External Septic Tank

When we built our house with a basement, a hold tank with a pump was installed to pump sewage to the house septic tank. I would like to do that for an RV pad, drain my black water tank in a holding tank and pump it to my septic tank ... any ideas would be helpful.

I use that to keep our tanks flushed out, our house has a septic tank and just not in a good position to be able to do anything other than a pump type system.

In our area clean-outs in the line to the sewage system are pretty standard. I make the final dump at trip's end from my driveway parking spot to the clean out at the far front side of my lawn.

My macerator is permanently installed.

I use it all the time. I also have an end with standard 3" connection that I can attach if the pump fails. Works like a charm.

Put in a clean out city won't say nothing and you can use that for your dump. Just don't say anything else remember Loose Lips sink ships.

Or EBay I'm with the rest of you just pump it with the Macerator -- Vegas is pretty FLAT, should be really easy. but if you want to spend more time and money you could just duplicate the holding tank and pump system you have in the basement. When we put these in houses my plumber charges $2,000 to supply and install the system. Save the money just use the RV pump.

The only logical reason for that is that your septic tank was up hill from your house, and the leachfields line have to run down hill from the septic tank. Like sch911 said, get approval from the local authorities before you do a thing!!!

And if you can go down hill from the RV pad to the tank, you don't need a holding tank or pump!!! What ever you do don't drive or put a driveway over those lines. In many communities, the septic tank police (health department) can make you tear up the whole thing and put in a new one. And just pray that they don't require a white sand filter!!! That stuff cost like gold.

We were in one in Key West and the sewer was 30 ft fwd of the dump valve. Went and bought xtra hose and set it on a board. You will need a permit and a study to see if your septic system will hold the extra sewage.

when you approach the various utilities, remember you are putting in an additional "clean out".

X2. The same thing can be called either a "clean out" or a "dump station". One gets the neighbors into a major fit (with every agency you can think of from the dogcatcher on up being sent complaints about it), the other is perfectly acceptable due to oak tree roots.

One idea for power is to have a dedicated "poop battery", perhaps an AGM so there is less venting. Charge it every so often when parked at hookups. The reason I have a dedicated battery is so I don't have to worry about tapping into my rig's electrical system.

My 12 volt supply is ABOVE The wet bay, but then that's where the fuses are too (Only inside the rv not outside).

When it comes to major dumps.. That is septic system specific information, The system my dad dug when we moved the house I grew up in from Burllington to Tekonsha... Could take it no tribble at all.

Most house systems I've seen since.. Could not.

I can hold about 100 gallons if I max out all 3 of my tanks... I usually do not use one of them at all (Wife did but alas....)

wow. I even re-route the washer discharge to the lawn, so it does NOT go into the septic.

And when I had the jaccuzzi's and it came time to break down and maintenance clean, it went out on the lawn also. I wouldn't ever dump it into a septic field.

I guess it depends how long you have had septic's and what region you live in, to realize that you DO need to take care of them so you don't end up with big septic repair bills down the line. Live in a clay based region and it's 'all about' how to keep that drain field happy!

why do you dump your hot tub into your septic system? your lawn needs watering. I thought my softub that was about that size held 220 gallons???
