Details still sketchy, but it seems that a fire has done extensive damage to Premier RV Services in Junction City, OR and at least some of the 40-50 coaches inside.

I read the fire started in one unit. Some pretty grisly pictures on the local news site but then any motor vehicle that burns looks grisly, I've seen a lot of them and none are pretty.

Everything inside is basically junk, burned or not. The smoke damage on 'spared' units will render them totaled.

I live in this locale, and I could see on the news this evening that a lot of the rigs are a total loss. Am happy no one was hurt.

The news tonight said about $8 million in damage, $6 million of that to the coaches inside the building. No mention was made of how much fuel or lp was in any of those coaches. They don't yet know how the fire started. I imagine investigating a fire of this size will take a while. It's bad news for the employees and their families.

When you have a lot of RV's in storage, things can (and do) happen. Reminds me of the one in Buffalo, New York last year and the repurposed steel mill building where scores of RV's were destroyed. Glad I have a storage facility for mine right here (in the barn).

You're assuming YOUR coach isn't the one that started the fire. If that be the case, being in your own barn won't help....:) ๐Ÿ™‚ ...Dennis

Not concerned about it at all. Why it's insured.

Guess it depends on what your definition of "dabbles" is. Didn't an ex-president use that line at one time, or something similar..???...:)...Dennis

Premier Storage and RV in Junction City has been a sales, storage and repair facility since shortly after Country Coach, LLC went under. They purchased a part of the old Country Coach factory from the Lee family and are located next door to the facility purchased by Winnebago. Gary and Louie are two of the nicest guys you would ever hope to meet and very helpful, as is most of their staff. This is a horrible loss for them and for the community. Fortunately, the front building that houses the office, repair facility and consignment and for sale coaches was not involved in the fire. There are many customers waiting on pins and needles to find out the fate of their coach.

As far as "dabbling" in repair, I would say they probably do as well or better than most facilities in the United States, Texas included.

"Dabbles"?

They are a full service luxury RV Coach dealer, founded by former Country Coach employees, that sells, consigns, services, and provides storage for high end motor coaches. They have largest pre-owned inventory of Country Coach Motorcoaches in the U.S. and also sell other luxury diesel coach lines.

They also specialize in servicing high end motor coaches and Country Coach in particular.

Agree, from what I saw during a visit there while getting my coach serviced next door at WGO/CC, they don't just dabble in service. They do it all, including collision repair and painting.

They had all/most of their consignment inventory inside that building. They were stunning...mostly Country Coaches but other brands as well. Unfortunate for Premier and the owners of those coaches. I am sure some big checks will be written by their insurer.

The company is Premier STORAGE and RV services. Seems to be an Indoor Storage facility(that also dabbles in RV repair). I wonder what the Fire Marshall thinks about the business now. For Indoor RV shows, we must have NO LP in the RV at all. We also must have LESS than 1/4 tank of fuel(Gas or Diesel) per Fire Marshall and Dallas and Fort Worth code. We do have a similar facility just north of Dallas, but NOT in Dallas. Now, I wonder, What THAT city's Fire Marshall would think if he is aware of that facility's operation? Doug

Not a storage facility, it is a mainly Motor Home sales and service facility. That is very sad.

If that is the case, I would assume they have loss insurance.
