Foot not big enough

We've had our MH two years this year. My problem is my feet aren't that big - size 8.5. When driving to get the best leverage on the accelerator my foot is halfway up or at the top of the pedal. This means the heel of my shoe is not resting on the floor.

This gets very tiring on my foot, especially in traffic. One problem I've noticed, if going over bumps and the up and down movement of the MH cause my foot to actuate the pedal as the MH is moving up and down causing me having to release the pedal to stop the porpoising from getting out of hand.

I haven't seen a way to adjust the pedal. But even if I could the leverag is still needing to be applied to the top of the pedal. Is there anyone with this problem, any suggestions besides clown shoes?

I am short and have small feet. I just moved the seat very close to the pedals and it works well. I use cruise control when I can.

Thanks. From the photos, it looks like all they do is move them up higher in the air.

The OP has indicated his problem is that in order to depress and hold the pedal while driving, his foot has to be completely off the floor. This is awkward, uncomfortable, and tiring.

I'm not sure how a pedal extender will improve this. While the extender brings the pedal closer to the driver, it moves the pedal further away from the floor - meaning the OP will still have to hold his foot completely off the floor in order to depress and hold the pedal.

Because my pedal extenders hang 2 inches below the pedal and allow my heel to rest on the floor. The pictures in my link are not great.

I would take your MH to a Freightliner dealer and discuss your problem with the Service Dept. as they would be able to make recommendations.
I wear 8.5 size shoes and have never had a problem with any vehicle.

I found a video for door stop pedal extender on Youtube a while ago, it works great. I used through bolts in place of the screws and make really sure it doesn't get hung up on anything.

Search youtube for Gas Pedal Extension for under $5 or cut and paste.

Now that looks like a great possibility. I'll have to see how the MH pedal is attached.

Thanks!

FYI, I have a bum right leg and the effort required to hold the pedal was killer for me, upon inspection I find that there are three extension springs on the Accelerator pedal and the actual switch, I simply removed one spring which cut the effort by 1/3 !!!! simple effective and still enough tension to work Better than New

Put an extension on the pedal to better fit your foot. An addition could be made with a lip to support your foot and could be made so that it is removable for other drivers.

X2

The extension blocks are commercially available. I have two acquaintances who have added the extensions; one for her SUV, and the other for her Class A.

Boots don't do it for me. They don't add anywhere near enough height/length. And a block of wood worries me -- it might wedge itself into the wrong place in an emergency.

I put a pillow or something under my right knee, on the edge of the seat. This is not a complete solution, but it does assist in holding my leg up in the air, so it's not all muscle work.
