Help me understand how my slide outs work

I am having slide out issues. Knowing how the slide mechanism works might go a long way in my understanding of why my slide is trying to tear away my vinyl floor. I look under the slide from the outside but it is all enclosed, I don't see any bars, gears, wires .. nothing. A good video on understanding how your slide out works would be most helpful. Thanks. If the Lipper slidout info doesn't match what you have, try RBW. They have info on their site about their slisouts. My trailer is five years older than what you have and at that time they used RBW slides.

I started with nothing and I still have most of it left

I never fail, I just succeed in finding out what doesn't work

There are several to many different types of slide out mechanisms, some electric, some hydraulic, some mechanical (gears) some cable. It's hard to help with this without knowing what kind of coach you have or what kind of slide mechanism was fitted.

Our kitchen/living room slide mechanisms for adjusting are accessible under sections of the kitchen cabinets. I have a cooktop with a cupboard below that contains a drawer. Hubby takes that large drawer out. Next to that is a row of drawers on the right. He also has to take the bottom drawer out there. He is then able to make adjustments.

Found a video on slideout.. May give you an idea of how it works. Don't think it exactly addresses your problem.
Slide out repair
The rollers are inside the rv, and normally there are rollers or slides between the slideout and the floor to prevent damage to the carpet or tile..
Notice the slide room goes inside and rides on the rollers, the support for the slide (rails) go under the MH floor. Your gears and motor or hydraulics (mechanics) are under the floor. Adjustments are made at the rails or frame...

Here is video by Lippert on room adjustments...a little hard to follow. This is what the frame under the floor looks like and some of the adjustments.

Hope it helps

It is the dinette slide, kitchen / front slide. The compartments under it are sealed as best as I can tell. I guess I better look at them again more closely to se if there are removable panels in the ceilings on the storage bays.

First question is which slide are we talking about? If it is the front slide you should be able to access it from inside the basement compartment. If it is the bedroom, try looking under the bed for all the mechanicals.

You made need to put slide slickers or sections of Plexiglas under the slide on the floor when it comes in.

It sounds like you need to adjust the slide. Go to the Lippert home page and look up slides. It will show how to adjust them. Sounds like you need to raise yours up.

This will be good if I have the Lippert System. When I look under the slide from the outside, all I see is a fiberglass or plastic panel covering the whole bottom. I am not seeing any bars, rods, gears, wiring.. nothing, just a plain clean covering and no visible means of removing that panel.
