Help Tiffin ceiling panels falling down

I have 2008 32LA Allegro Tiffin. The Ceiling panels are falling down. Contacted Tiffin service says it has to go back to the factory to be done right? Has anyone had this work done at a dealer on the west coast? History the coach went to Tiffin 4 years ago to replace roof caps water was leaking into coach Tiffin pick up the coach and returned it no charge from Nevada to Alabama. Service guy now says they use furniture glue to hold the panels in place and they must have not used enough and they would add more supports to glue panels. $6600 just to get it to Alabama plus charges to fix problems they made so anyone know of a dealer that has done this work I can trust?

Never understood why these issues have to go to Red bay. Won't Tiffin honor work at a dealer like every other manufacturer does? I hear a lot of good about Tiffin as far as customer service, but it sounds more like customer inconvenience.

Yes this is a major problem, dealer support has been a disater a Tiffin repair center replaced the original roof and first rain we had water coming through the light fixtures. Minor problems they can fix anything major my personal experience is they can't. I would know first 3 summers were lost having this thing repaired. And when Tiffin tells me directly the dealer can't fix this ceiling issue I believe them. Has nothing to do with dealer cost that other poster suggested these are the facts.

Tiffin most definitely has a dealer network that can handle most repairs just like any other manufacturer. The problem is they went through a rough period between 2008 to the beginning of 2012 where they had some major issues that the repairs were beyond the capabilities of a lot of dealers.

The solution when those issues first started popping up was to take the coach to Red Bay. Then in some areas, like the west coast, they started training qualified independent repair facilities to handle some of these bigger issues. This arrangement has worked out really well for me and other west coast Tiffin owners. This is why I suggested that the OP contact the Tiffin west coast service rep.

Because this unit is OUT of warranty by 7 years. Tiffin can fix it cheaper than paying a dealer to do it. Besides, Tiffin owes this customer nothing after 7 years. So, if you need Goodwill, go to the factory where they have the parts available. Doug

Most dealers can't fix things right, especially major things. That's why folks go back to the factory.

Seriously, you really think it will cost $6600 to go from Nevada to Red Bay Alabama????????? Doug

Yes that's what Tiffin wants $1.50 per mile 4400 miles round trip. If I could take a month off work I would. That's why I need somewhere close to get it fixed. And after 3 calls to Bob no return call we have giving up on that route.

I work for a Tiffin dealer. IF you do not get Bob Tiffin, he is out of the office. You need to keep calling. For THOUSANDS of dollars either way, for repairing on the west coast or hopefully Bob will help on transport. I would call Bob and explain you are willing to pay for the fuel to Red Bay and back if he will supply a driver. usually on cases like this, when they have THEIR drivers deliver to the area of a Service problem, they have that drive then bring the customers unit back. So, if they will transport to Alabama, then maybe the return cost will not be that bad, since you will not be paying for the repair. You need to be a little more patient. Doug

$6600 to go from Nevada to Alabama. I will charge you $5000 to fly to pick it up and deliver to Alabama and bring it back. See, you just saved $1600.
CALL Bob Tiffin and explain what you stated here. That they repaired the roof and the old water leak caused the new problem. While I doubt Tiffin will pay to pick up and return, no problem asking them. If they state they will repair it at the factory at no charge to you, then just take it to Tiffin. I would suggest you join the Tiffin RV Network forum, Tiffin RV Network forum and post your question there, too. There are literally thousands of Tiffin owners there, some of whom may well have the information you need on your ceiling problem.

Thanks for the info.

The last time we went to the Tiffin factory,we had a few day wait, and they were farming some of their work out to local folks.

Our routes use to take us close to Red Bay, and if we needed something done, it was convenient. It was always a good experience.

Good Luck!

Where are you located in NV?

Laughlin

Bullhead City is the closest for any type of service. I am looking at Las Vegas, and maybe a RV Tech in Lake Havasu.

I over research anyone that is going to touch my MH. I have had good results due to the efforts it takes in researching.

These folks did some repair work this summer after a hit and run driver tried to take out the front of my MH to the tune of $7300. Insurance took care of it.

Pro Collision, Lake Havasu, AZ

It was worth the 150 mile round trip to have them do the repair work.

They work closely with Tiffin to ID parts, etc. If Tiffin uses a special glue, etc, they could probably get it.

I did a lot of research to find these folks after we moved to NV, and some low life scumbaggin' maggot, hit the MH while it was parked and took off.

I was not disappointed. I believe they are honest and committed to good customer service.

Now, I need to find a good MH mechanic for the When If time arrives, and for some maintenance work.

Good Luck!
