House batteries not charging

Since I had the fix done from the BCC recall, now my house batteries aren't charging from the engine alt. THey used to and I can hear it "click" after the engine has been started for about 10 seconds but they aren't charging. I plan on taking it back to the dealer but anyone have an idea that I could fix it quickly without runing it in there? Thanks

That's what I am thinking. I am wondering if they didn't disconnect the wrong ones.

With my coach, the house power switch has to be in the on position for the alternator to charge the house batteries. I was in the habit of turning the switch off to save the house batteries while going down the road until I reread my owners manual.

This exact recall has made my previous coach lots problem, I used to have a Four Winn Windsport 34B gas bunk model for 6 years, it runs very well before the recall service by the dealership,after the recall
my batteries would not charge, I put new all new batteries and new converter charger, it work ok for a while till the batteries got low
and it couldn't start in gas station, campsite, lost fridge power on the road, I send back to the dealer, have them put back everything, but still the same problem, sometime starts sometimes not, even with the generator on for 5 hours while driving, or plug in the shore power over night still not charging, I have to carry an extra fully charged battery on a few trips. I am sure by spending more time trace the wires would solve the problem, but me and DW went to the RV show
decided to made the move upgrade to a DP. but not without a big dent in the bank account.

Sounds like your relay/isolator is working. I would check for charging voltage on either side of the isolator. Mine has 2, one for the chassis battery and one for the house batteries. If you see 13.7 + volts on both sides of the isolator then your relay is good. I would then try to trace the + wire to your house batteries if there is no corrosion then I would assume as others have said, someone did not tighten or installed incorrectly the wires they were meant for the fix. I assumed that you put a voltmeter across the + and - of the battery terminal while it was running and read something less than 12.7 volts?

On some newer Fords ( I think mainly Thor) the BCC - battery control center had faulty disconnects. They could disconnect the chassis batteries which would leave you without power, Not something you want to have while driving. THe recall is simple, they just bypass the disconnect. I am not sure why it's having any effect on my house batteries, but that's a guess.

Look for a loose wire or fuse between the the BBC and the house batteries

I should have eloborated, they charge fine from the gen or shore power. It's just not getting juice from the engine alt. Sorry I should have been more clear.

Most likely they disconnected your batteries. Check for loose wires or a wire not reconnected.
