Do you stream tv with an unlimited data phone plan, satellite,
rely on rv park cable or over air? I'm trying to make decision if to get HD smart TV, or go to Hulu $40 'real time', or?????
Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

OTA or campground cable. Since we're usually at a state park, neither is usually available so we watch "Caveman TV" better known as the fire pit! Since we've owned the rig, we've only ever watched TV once, and that was because we were stuck inside for 2 days while a hurricane came over us in Virginia Beach a couple years ago. Campground cable and binge-watching Criminal Minds........I'd MUCH rather have been exploring the boardwalk.......

OTA and have always been able to get at least a few channels. Occasionally cable when a park offers it at no additional charge.

Dish satellite, OTA, and streaming channels we don't subscribe to on Dish plus Prime Video and others. We use a portable manually aimed multi-LNB satellite dish, and haven't been on a site yet where we couldn't get a signal from either the western or eastern arc sats. For streaming, we use a FireTVstick connected to our unlimited 4G data AT&T plan.

Why try to fit your label for camping onto how someone else might enjoy it?

I download some movies from Netflix. It comes free with Netflix subscription.

But I hope I would not find a camping site so boring with nothing to do but watch TV. We've been snowed in but still, it did not prevent us from going outdoors -- which seems to be the point to camping, lol.

On the road for the summer.

DISH with a Pathway X2 carryout and a bunch of DVDs borrowed from family.

Rewatching The Sopranos, etc.

Most campground WiFi is not adequate for streaming.

DirecTV, OTA, CG cable if available, then stream, in that order. Don't watch a lot of TV while camping, but do watch more when snowbirding.

I stream using my unlimited plan. When deep in the boonies, I'll download to my device when at the grocery or restaurant.

We try to find campsites where there is no tv or cell reception. AM and FM radio can also be quite iffy.
Having a 2 meter Amateur Radio repeater available is a plus, though.

I take 2 receivers from my house and have 2 Tailgaters in the RV. One is permanent mounted on the roof for the front TV and one portable for the bedroom. I like having the same 250 channels that I have at home. Plus I watch foot ball a lot and the wife likes her sit com and movies.

I find that if you can't get Dish, you can't get OTA. We stocked up on box sets of various TV series. This trip we're doing The Shield.

I had great luck in the southeast with OTA. We figured the trip to the west Dish would be best, So far a bust.

There are a lot of "streaming" options now (cable over internet) that work well if you have adequately fast data (works on 4G cell phones, have not tried 3G). I am watching DirecTV NOW (no connection to the satellite version) on my PC while I am typing this. $40/month, 20 hours of cloud based DVD free, no contract.
