How many engineers required to change a light bulb?

We have many reading lamps with 12VDC bayonet bulbs. I'd like to replace the bulbs with new LED bulbs but find it difficult to seat the new bulbs. Its easy to remove old bulbs because the spring ejects them, but the tight clearance around the bulb prevents my fingers from grasping the bulb enough to turn it.

Has anyone come up with a simple tool or aid to push and rotate a new bulb?

They actually make a suction cup with a fin on the back for changing those bulbs. Doug is on a roll!

Change the bulb? Heck, at a recent RV gathering, it took FIVE of us just to go BUY the bulb! :B

Thanks for the help. Rubber gloves and patience made a difference and 19 LED lamps are much brighter than the mini 12 VDC incandescent flood lamps.

I think I met the guy that was 450th out of 350.

That comment gets me wondering what place some of our doctors finished in their class?

WRONG. They would tell YOU to unscrew and reinstall the bulb numerous times and then relocate the lamp to another receptacle, THEN tell you it is a hardware problem and thanks for the credit card payment for the "technical help":B Doug

Just one -- he works for the Government and just buys a new coach if the lights don't work.

At least 10 engineers. 9 to argue who has more knowledge on bulb changing and how THEY could have designed it better. The 10th was just out of College and just replaced it. He did not have enough experience to do anything else just yet. Doug

I Changed to LED bulbs - heat problem solved here

Not only did they burn my fingers they was causing my lamp fixture lens to turn dark colors as well as the ceiling around the bulb

A piece of plastic/rubber tubing may help.

Have you tried rubber gloves? The ones I use when dumping would give a little extra grip on the glass.
