I would like to replace the springs on my HWH jacks. Is HWH the best place to buy, or is there another place that may have a better price?

Thanks for all of the input. I am going to order new ones from HWH. I will most likely have a better chance of getting the correct springs. Thanks again, this is a great site and I appreciate it.

Wipe the jack rams down with a rag dampened with atf.cuts time in half on mine after a little lube

Today I received my spring order from HWH. 6 springs were $81. $27 for 2 springs.

Very quick shipping via FedEx. I ordered Wed. and received, here near Pittsburgh, on Fri.

That is NOT a spring problem, but the design of the jack system. You also may have sticking seals in any jack that takes longer than 2 minutes to retract. Doug

I replaced a pair on my rig for around $20 about three years back in Yuma!
Prices have gone up since then but should be able to find them in stock at any RV Parts Store.

find the AP model number located on the cylinder. if you cant read one side try the other. front jacks on either side are always the same. rear jacks on either side are also the same.
they may even show different model numbers on one side, but if you check the quick reference guide you will find the replacement parts are the same.

First you need to know which model jacks you have.
www.rvparts.com has them for about $28.00 per set.

I got 4 new ones online for $75 delivered from an outfit in Cal....My local repair place (where I get oil changed in the DP etc) put them on in, literally, about 5 min. I forget how I determined which ones I needed but I remember a long chart of different sizes and applications.....

I bought my replacement from my RV dealer who had the proper one. I found it easy to replace them when I used a small bottle jack, hooked up one spring to the plate, put the jack under the other side and eased the spring up to be able to hook it to the fitting.
at first I thought about using a 2 x 4 as a lever and came up with a much better/easier method.

HWH does not manufacture their own springs, but buys them from another vendor, and marks them up before reselling them. However you would need to know the exact diameter of the spring material, it's spring rate, and minimum and maximum spring length to buy them from a spring manufacture.

So because you probably do not have a way to accurately measure the spring diameter, you are probably best buying them from HWH or your local RV parts supplier.
