Installed New Samson Tires on Mtr Hm today

After much research, Procrastination, advice, and other things I decided to try the Samson Gl283A 245/70R19.5 tires on my new to me 2006 Hurricane. Yes they are made in China, and so is most of the tires you can buy today. It says right on the tires the name of the factory that makes them in china. They cost me $1,209.00 Installed, Fed and sales tax, and the front wheels balanced. Did not balance the rear duals. If I find it necessary, then I will have it done or else use beads. I like the 5 rib tread design. It looks much like the design on a more expensive tire. I was worried that the ride might be a little harsh because of H (16 ply rated), But so far that has not proven to be true. The ride so far is smoother than the ride with the Goodyear G670's that came off. So far I am real pleased with the results. Only time will tell. I have a few mods that I want to make, but they may not be necessary as the steering has been great with no wander or bad steering I may do the CHF if roll and sway prove to be not to my liking. I discovered the Front has a track bar so I am sure that helps. Using the Load and inflation charts for this size tire and my axle weights, I am running 85 Lbs PSI in all tires. I will have to experiment a little to get it just right. I can't go lower than 80 Lbs Psi without damaging the tires. So far all is OK will keep the forum posted. So far I am a happy camper.

That has been my Experience with them too. A Big difference in price $496 for the G670 Goodyears Not installed Versus the Samsons Mount and Balanced Tax's for $213 a tire. Big difference. 1/3rd the cost of a Goodyear and every bit as good with a better ride..

It is not what a country can manufacture, but what US suppliers want to buy from them.
30 years ago in Europe I bought metric, Chinese wrench/socket set in pretty big box.
Ratchets broke pretty fast and I welded 2 wrenches over the years, but in the same time I replaced tens of Craftsman tools.
Go to trailer tire place and Chinese tires will have the best recommendations.

I installed Samsons on mine in 2012. Payed roughly the same price you did. Drove my MH to Key West last summer and drove to Utah during Christmas break. Have had several shorter trips too. No problems and they still look good. Will install them again when they time out in 2019. Do not understand people paying all that money for high priced tires to just throw them away when they time out.

I'm running the double coin Chinese also, mine are the 8R19.5's. I ended up buying 7 so the spare would be the same. I run mine at 85Lbs and the rear firestone bags at 70, the fronts at 65. I balanced all 7. Everythings smooth for the last couple of years. I've put 17,000 miles on them.

I'm running 22.5 Samson's on mine. They were on it when I purchased it and I have put 8k miles on them myself sence. I would purchase them or Hankooks over the highly over rated junk rv tires.

Thank you for posting this info. I will be looking for new tires in a couple of years, and I like to see comments by owners of the various brands. Give us a follow up in a few months, if possible.
