Ok all,
For those of you who travel with cats in your class C..where do you put the cat litter box? It seems like the shower or the passenger foot well are the only two spots that are not "in the way".

We always kept ours on the floor under the dining table. That way the cats had free access to it whenever.

We put ours in front of the refrigerator during the night and in a corner between the bed and the wall during the day. Works out ok given the floor plan we have to work with.

I wouldn't put it in the shower. If they get litter out of the box, it could end up down the drain. Not sure what wet cat litter would do in your tank or pipes. When we take our cat, we put it in the cab area when stopped.

Keep in mind that clumping kitty litter turns into 'concrete' when wet. That stuff goes down your shower drain and will clog the drain and leave concrete balls in your tank.

I placed the litter box 'inside' a soft sided small crate with paper on the bottom of it. NONE of the cat litter got outside of it into my MH. It all remained inside the small soft crate. It sits in the back of the MH on the floor.

Best part is you can use it to put your cat in when you don't want it to get out of the RV and they won't mind because it has screen openings all around for them to look out. AND it folds completely flat into a 12 inch circle when not in use! 20 bucks at Walmart!

My cat also rides in this crate anytime we are on the road. Cat box at one end, his bed on the other end. He's happy, I'm happy, and no litter dust in my MH. :C

We have a space between the driver's seat and the queen-sized sofa bed, so the high-sided "no spill" box fits there perfectly. (Because it's the same model of box that we have at home, so that helps with training.)

There's also mats underneath the box and at the box "entrance", so Bonnie & Clyde (our 10 y.o. Dutch cats) can keep their paws clean.

Driver's footwell. Kitty only uses the box when parked.

I put plastic under it in case of mishaps, and use newspaper pellet litter so there is no tracking.

We took a green turf door mat and set the LB on it in the shower. In two and a half months he traveled with us no mess.

When stopped, we put ours between the front seats. There still seems to be a problem with litter tracked out of the box.
When moving, we put it in front of the fridge. There's a little corner there that just fits it.

When we had a park model, I took a door off one of the low cupboards and put it in there.

Tell the cats to hold it.

We have two cats and two boxes, one near the entry and the other in front of the shower. They are in the way for sure, but I am meticulous about clean, and sweep/vacuum the litter after every use -- the cats use, not us.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

We put a piece of circular foam pipe wrap over the sliding trough that the doors slide in. Cut a piece to the exact length, then cut a lengthwise slit so that it will fit snugly over the track. This keeps kitty litter out of the track and clean up is easy.

Our former "C" had the dinette with storage under the seats. It also had doors on those areas and the cushions came off for converting into a bed. This made it easy to clean the box.
I removed the door, lined the interior of the storage area with a rubber backed rug (a few staples held it in place) and we put the box in there. Once the cats were used to where the box was, we put a cloth door on from the inside.
We also put an odor absorber in there.
Worked good for us.
