We have a 2003-Pace Arrow 36R on a WorkHorse W22.
We like the floorplan, interior and price on the coach. We have had it about 1 year now.
We have experienced several issues with the coach, most were fixed by the dealer the first time. A couple took multiple attempts by dealer to fix. We had a one problem which (IMHO) should not have been, the kitchen cabinet draws had no latches. They were free to slde in and out. Goodness this is a motorhome..... Well you can imagine the first corner you went around, they slid right out in the floor.
We have experienced a couple of serious issues;
~With only 5-6 K miles, the coach bounced and wandered the road. WH relaced all four shocks with Monroe Gas Mags. Took the bounce out, made it handle much better, but still wanders a little in wind and truck traffic.

~Had left front tire (Michelin 235 XRV) blowout. Dealer said this was a "zipper blowout" and it was caused by running the tire overloaded for the air pressure you have. I know I had 95lbs air in tire, the LF wheel weighted 3500lbs. It was not over weight. I did not hit anything. The explosion from the blowout busted the fiberglass fender, which cost $1700 to fix. I replaced ALL 6 XRV tires with GoodYears.

~We lost ALL braking (Except for emergency foot brake) on the coach. A couple days before, we received a recall (Bulletin # 50401-C) from WorkHorse on the Bosch ZOPS brakes system. The recall says you can continue to drive your vehicle normally until the recall work is completed. I was lucky I was only going 25 on a side street in Houston. The coach is still (about 3 weeks) at Dealer waiting on parts for repair.

Paul, In looking at what is under the PA, I'm going to have an angle iron welded to the hitch box that goes across and under the receiver the width of the MH to attach the eyebolts. Send me an e-mail and I'll send you pics when I have it done next week.

Let me know how that worked out on mounting the RV underskirt, I went to Camping World and they couldn't and/or wouldn't mount their's. I like to put one on if I can get it to fit.

Here's a mod I've done on my Pace 37C. One thing I discovered is that we have less cabinet space than we used to have in our Southwind. You know the curio cabinet that sits over the pull-out table? I took a panel from one of the over the sink doors, took it to a glass shop and bought a larger version to fit the doors in the curio cabinet. I couldn't find the frosted glass version so I bought a spray in the can frosting that matches perfectly. Now we have extra pantry space for soft goods (cereal, cocoa, chips etc.) and it is not visible to anyone walking into the coach and the light inside is still useful and all the glass matches.

Also, I've been researching Rock Gaurds and such and I decided on the RV Underskirt from Blue Ox. This was my choice and is not meant to belittle YOUR decision. I was impressed enough after reading that one of our forum members took his on a trip to Alaska and it performed wonderfully. The problem I'm faced with is that when I went to install it, the Pace only has a slight curl of fiberglass and there does not appear to be enough to mount the eye bolts to. My thought is to have an angle iron welded to the hitch box at the rear and have it extend across the rear of the coach low enought to attach the eye bolts.... any other ideas?? Great topic y'all!!

I was in my motorhome this morning and put the slides out. I remembered your question about the carpet and the slideout. Are you are talking about the slide out leaving a smashed like line down your carpet where it sits when it is in? If so I don't know if it is right or not,All I know is that every motorhome I owned with a slideout did this. It leaves a slight indentation on the carpet about one inch wide and go the lenth of the slideout. After the slideout is out for a few hours it goes away. I never have wear marks on the carpet.
As far as the slide out closing tight on the outside, my slide out is real close to the side at the top and maybe 1/2 away at the bottom. But the slideout makes good contact with the rubber gasket all around to keep water out.

Hope this helps

Sounds like the slide out needs adjustment, it's no big thing, it only takes the service center a few minutes. I would take it in before it does any more damage.

On muy 2004 Pace Arrow the front slide does not fit flush when in the "in" position. The carpet is smashed flat and I think wearing from the front of the slideout. Curious how your slideouts fit and if your carpet is being damaged. I believe mine will have to be replaced at the factory after the slide is corrected.

We've had our PA 37C for a little over a week now. This is our first class A. So far, we have NO REGRETS! We were a little intimidated at first with the size, after upgrading from a 5er. We have overcome that fear, and are making it our own. We are learning more about it each day. Most I learn has been from the posts on RV.Net. Thanks to all! We did months of research prior to our purchase in order to make the most informed purchase we could.

So, thank all of you who have been answering my questions!

Sota, nice editorial on what you think this post should be, BUT, that is not what the post is.

If you what that kind of info, which IS very important on any rig, first go to "SEARCH" and check for the info you are looking for. If it is not there when start your own POST for that imput.

Now there are some very important questions from several Pace Arrow owners, if you own a PA and have imput to help a member of this forum please do, that is what this Forum is for.

Have a nice day

Mr. Muffin,

I started this topic to make contact with Pace Arrow owners, not Pace Arrow critics. Your comments are more suited for a topic on "how to choose a motorhome".

Jim

I would rather hear the good ,bad and the ugly even if I owned a PA as it would help to point out problem area's which I had maybe overlooked.

PA's are on my list of RV's I am considering and would like to go into it with my eyes wide open instead of half shut in order to minimize the pains of finbding flaws later on which would make my RV experience allot more enjoyable.

JMO--Hope your happy!

Has anyone with a 2004 PA 37C put on a Ultra Guard rock guard? I just got back from Camping World and they told me that it would not fit because the rear basement compartment was in the way. I got under there and the compartment is there but I was hoping someone found a way to do it. Camping World sounded like they did not want to take the time.

My saleslady called Monday, said my 37C was going on the production line 11/05/04.She also asked if I want the W24c Chassis, she knew I was concered about the low CCC.
Appears Monday the W24 has become the Chassis for all (new orders) new Pace Arrow 37's. My order has been in for sometime. Thought I was getting the W22. That was a concern because of the CCC. Now I have just added 1800 more pounds of stuff (the W24 chassi weighs 200 more pounds).MSRP for W24 is $8000.00 maybe $8,500.00 more (I forget right now). She talked with the factory did some switching around and my coach may be the first with the new chassis plus Nancy offered and added it for $5000.00 I know she will make a few bucks off the deal. I think it's worth it .
Alot of salespeople would have consideredd the deal done when the order was placed and deposit paid. I could have ended up with the W22 not knowing the next run of Pace Arrows will possibly be the last of the W22s and for sure the first of the W24s. I hear alot of slaming of salespeople, Nancy at Giant RV Internet Sales is great. She calls often just to let me know whats going on, when to expect delivery, how long they need for dealer prep., answers alot of my questions. promised the same service after the sale. Would recommend her to anyone looking.
