I'd like to make contact with others who own one of the new (2004, 2005) Pace Arrows so we can share experiences, problems, good things, etc.

I also love the upgrade. The issue is keeping the speed down. Though, as discussed in irv2, dropping from 65 to 60-62 improves gas mileage.

I LOVE it! In 2 cross coutry trips this past year I have averaged 7.8 MPG and thats towing our dinghy and fully loaded for a 2 month trip. I never have to worry about having enough power when we hit the mountains. All in all it is the best upgrade and improvement I've done to our rig.

Fyr guy -

I noticed in your signature that you have the Ultrapower upgrade. I have been considering this upgrade for a while now and have been doing the research (reading the Workhorse forum on IRV2.com, etc.) but wanted get an opinion from a Pace Arrow owner.

How do you like the upgrade? Did it meet your expectations? Any info you're willing to share is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all! The thread has started slowing down as of late and I hope it's a result of eveyone getting ready or actually being out on the road.
Just wanted to share a small issue. As my PA is an early '05, and not full paint, it has started to oxidize very slightly on the side that catches the most sun out here in the high desert. For me it's the drivers side. I wanted to catch this early before it becomes a real problem. I just want to recommend the "Meguire's oxidation remover heavy duty gel coat cleaner". I used it this morning to do the whole side and it came out beautiful! It takes a light application to a small area and you need to buff it off before it dries. I did have to go over small areas especially around the large "Pace Arrow" logo with the still wet application cloth and immediatly buff off. Thank God it was the drivers side with all the windows and such as it will probably take a bit more time to do the passenger side. I found this product at my local RV dealer in town so it should be readily available online or in your local stores. A few weeks back I did the front end cap which had oxidized and will redo tomorrow morning as I can see swirl marks were I didn't get all the polish off.
Best wishes to all and have fun this summer.
Sandy

I finally was able to get the moho in to a Michelin Dealer and get the tires inspected for the cracking. The Dealer looked at them and said, "no problem, Michelin will Warranty them." He also stated he'd seen a few tires come in with my same problem. Repeating the description of my problem, this is apparently not normal weather/ozone cracking. The cracking is right along the lettering that is close to the rim.

The quote I got was Michelin will warranty $318 per tire. This is based on the amount of tread left. The new price for this tire is $365 at this particular dealer, so my payout will be $47 per tire plus I have to pay for the mounting and balancing. Dealer said he thought balancing was a waste. On large truck and moho type tires it supposedly doesn't do any good. At a minimum he said only balance the fronts.

In any case it's going to cost a little under $500 to replace all six tires including the tax and labor. Needless to say, I told him to order the tires.

Dual Pane Windows

We purchased our MH used. How do I determine if we have dual pane windows?

Cathy

Being a 2004 more than likely it has dual pane windows. There might be a easier way to tell, but I look in the corner of the window where the manufacturer's mark is. If it is a dual pane, you can see the double markings, one on each pane of glass. When I first seen those marks I thought I need glasses seeing double.

I also remembered that I saw that warning on the window tint kit box at Wal-Mart when I was going to tint my windows. You might want to ask a window tint company.

Paul Turpin... Maybe you or someone with the same make and model as me can tell me... Are there any cb hookups that come standard under the dash... Thanks

Not on the P/A I have. I didn't want to drill a hole in my rig so I got an antenna that sticks on the window and I ran the wire to under the dash. Again with the dual pane glass, I had to put the antenna on the little window on top of the driver door because the window antenna will not work thru dual pane windows. I don't use the CB very much only when there is a traffic backup to find out what lane to be in. I have found the window antenna does not have a long range.

Cathy,
I am not an expert on this but I was told once that if you tint dual pane windows it could harm them. I never went any further with it and never check any window experts on this info. Maybe, send email question to the glass company that makes dual pane windows.

good luck

Thanks for the info on the caps.

Was also wondering, anyone getting strange noises under the dash or towards the front end in front of driver after a long day of driving? We never get it on short trips, but after a 6-8 hour day we start getting a whinning or groan under there. Moving the steering wheel a little makes it louder, almost like a tired power assist motor. Lets up at high speed, and never appears until a long drive. During breaks from driving it goes away when we start up, but comes back shortly after.
