How many miles do you normally drive per day and what is the most miles driven ? I normally try to do 400 t0 450 per day. A week ago today I did over 600 miles. Not by choice but due to circumstances, long story thanks to flooding in the Midwest. GPS had me on highway 2 in Kansas and all at once the road was closed at the Missouri River then the fun began.

generally we try not to drive more than 300 miles a day. Around 270 seems perfect. we like to hit the road around 9am, stop for a late breakfast, and be off the road no later than 3:30pm.
Works for us.

It depends on how you use your camper. If you have 2 or 3 weeks' vacation and want to go from New York to Yellowstone and back, you'll be pushing it to maximize the time at your destination. If you're retired and on an extended road trip you tend to stay at places along the way long enough to explore the area then move on down the road a few hours and do it again.

We are now in the latter. I've set the RV Trip Wizard travel radius to 4 hours, which gets us 200-250 miles per travel day.

200 - 250 miles in a F53 based mh is a good range for us. Have done 300 but never again unless some tragedy requires it. Allows for later starts and still get where we’re going while the sun still shines.

On the first day of almost every trip we knock off 600-700 miles. I have seen the Dakotas many times. We want to get to the Black Hills or the Rockies so we push it. Wisconsin is centrally located but it is still a good drive to get where we want to go.
After the first day, we may not go anywhere for a couple of days in a row or maybe 200 miles.

How old are you?
I have been a road warrior since the 1960s. Even in slow old cars a normal day was 600-700 miles. If we were in a hurry 1,000 miles.
Now cars go much faster, but I am near 70 and like 250-300 miles at the most.

We aim for 250 miles a day, sometimes more sometimes less. We enjoy breakfast and on the road by 9:30 want to be where we want to be by 3:30. Back in the day when we called it vacation we would push it, drive all night taking turns at the wheel. ??

300 to 350, will push 450 if I need to, but not often. I'm retired, I don't like to get up early and I don't like to set up in the dark at night.

We live in Colorado, so some of our drives are only a 200 miles. When we go to the southeast, we try and do 700 on one day and only 300 the next. I think that 300 miles in our DP is a super easy day.....700 is a long way....but nice to get a big chunk out of the way. In the west, you could drive 300 miles and not be anywhere....just depends where you are going and coming from...

When we were using the DP I could do 600 or so. Not so much now with the gasser. Gasser is harder to drive and not nearly as comfortable a ride.
When I was P/T with BMW, I would leave north of Atlanta and sleep in Pembroke Pines Florida. (Flatbed Ford) NO more however. Too old and back is shot

I like to think we are not RV Travelers but RV Campers. What we want to do when we are in travel mode is to arrive at an overnight location before dark usually in the 4PM to 5PM time frame. We want to get setup for the night stay in an unhurried frame of time... Eat a casual meal, check in with the kids, etc... Watch a little TV especially for the upcoming Weather for the next day of driving.

For us this usually means 300 to 350 miles driven hopefully less than a 8 hour drive period...

Most of our trips have been on the East side of the US which is probably more hectic than the long lonesome roadways out in the Western part of the US. Our trips seem to duplicate themselves it seems... Head for Myrtle Beach and come back via Gatlinburg TN haha... Done this so many times the same gas stations get used and some of the folks there remember us haha...

Sometimes we have been known to drive to the Arkansaw/Texas state line to enjoy a WHAT-A-BURGER meal haha...

Back when it was a 2 week vacation or a long weekend we could make it to the gulf coast in 2 days. Now sometimes it takes a week. Some times we just go to the office and get another night and don't go anywhere that day. Without reservations we aren't in any hurr.
