Mine was built in Wakarusa in May of 2008 just as the 2009 were coming out..I believe Oregon building all moved to Indiana and they used a few new suppliers for the model. I have been happy with mine although I got duped out of warranty, the component builders did stand behind the major failures. (AC when Carrier was still in AC business), LCI with the motor seal, Magnum with the inverter etc. but the coach is solid 5 years later...I take care of mine and am a true nut, so if I decide to sell mine, then whoever gets it get a gem. As for the newer Monaco that ASV brings out, until I see one, who knows....All I know is when they come out with the Diplomat, that will be the focal point if ASV can do with it. But I do get great support and that is a strong point.

I woul be hesitant to buy a coach built in the final year before bankruptcy, as they were likely cutting corners while building them

Mark, like MRUSA, I thought there was some ambiguity in your post as you made a point in stating "First, Monaco is IN business" and wanted to clarify they may have the name, but not the coach -- at least in a way that the OP, myself, MRUSA, and, it seems, you, would consider it. I apologize for my part in misconstruing where you were coming from.

And in a nod to tyoungs let me add that while I am a BIG fan of the Roadmaster S-Series chassis, I would much rather have a Cummins engine in it than a Navistar (yes, I know some of the models I list below often had Cats (Beaver) or DD S60). So I should have been clear I was talking about the "old regime" rather than just focusing on the chassis.

Regardless, my $0.02 says I would not turn my nose up at a '06, '07, or '08, Navigator, Thunder, Marquis, Signature, Executive, or Dynasty (though I think the ISL is a little under powered for a heavy Dynasty, especially out west). I think these coaches are fantastic -- especially for people who like to drive them as much or more than camping in them.

Our coach is a 2011 HR made under the Navistar regime but was the last year they built the Endeavor on the Roadmaster chassis with Cummins engines. In 2012, the coaches were still on the Roadmaster chassis but came with MaxxForce Navistar motors. Some were not very happy with that engine as they used massive amounts of EGR instead of a catalyst with DEF like all other engine manufacturers used.
So last year with Roadmaster and Cummins was 2011 and my coach has been very dependable - our 3rd HR and the best one yet.
Not very happy with what new owners are doing with HR/Monaco as they are basically rebadged Fleetwoods on Freightliner chassis - not my cup of tea!!!

First, Monaco is IN business. I think you might can find 2010's of the old Monaco. I know that they made 2009's.

I noticed when I looked at the 2009 Dynasty's that there were some cabinet details cut compared to ours (maybe the parts bin was getting a little empty). Ours was built in January-March of 2007 while Monaco was roaring.

Even though they call it a "Roadmaster", the new chassis does not appear to be a Roadmaster. Which, for some of us, distinguished the Monaco, HR, and Beaver lines that Monaco used to produce.

Southpark, I think what the OP is asking is when they stopped making Monaco's at the Coburg, OR, plant under the old regime. And, those would certainly have the original Roadmaster chassis.

And as your observation hinted, I would probably avoid a unit made towards the end or when crews felt they might lose their jobs any day.

The new Monacos have the same name, but are not the same as the old Monacos. I think that is why the OP asked the question.

I would not touch a Monaco past the 2008 model year. Everyone I know that bought a 2009, has had their problems and no support. There were some models left in the Monaco lot that Navistar classified as 2010 models but they were actually built as 2009 models and I personally would not touch one with a 10' pole. The first Navistar models with the blue seal, were 2010 models and they displayed them at the Navistar Rally Oct 2010 in Tucson.
