What kind of fuel mileage do you get in your class C or super C?

Most of the C's are gas, I think the super C's are diesel?

I dont own a motorhome, doing my homework right now to figure out operating costs.

So if you don't mind let me know the MPG, RV size, engine (engine size, gas/diesel, Ford/Chevy).

Thanks !!!!!

1993 29' Cobra Passport E350 460 V8 average 9.1 mpg USG at 60 mph with nothing towed. GVW is 11,500 empty. At 65 mph she drops down to 8 mpg but at 55 she bumps up to 11.5. The best I've ever measured from a full tank usage was 18 mpg! This was achieved averaging 50 mph through slow acceleration and by driving uphill between 40 and 45 while coasting down hill up to 70.

We have 50k on an ’06 Jayco Seneca 34SS at 20,160lbs plus 3,740 when the PT Cruiser is behind on a car caddy. I see right on 8.5mpg towing or not as my travel speed is higher when not towing. Best ever for a tank was 9.8 and the worst was 6.5. On the last 28 day trip from SoCal to Reno and Portland and returning down 101 to the bay area and then I-5 I got 8.75mpg. The tank holds 80 gal. and I spend them frivolously.

2011 Lazy Daze 24' V10 E450. 9 MPG overall.

Once in a while on easy steady 60 MPH trip it will get 10 MPG.

Just returned from a 2341 mile trip to Oregon and back home in Idaho.
1998 Four Winds 22rk V10, weighed out at 11800 Lbs when we left. Speed limit in
Oregon is 55 mph on just about every road. We used 168 gallons of gas at
13 miles per gallon. I never saw a gas pump with 85 octane, 87 octane was the lowest. Prices in Idaho were $3.55 a gallon, in Oregon the range was $3.85 to $4.05. The Four Winds did just fine never gave a problem.

Explanation:

Please understand that in Oregon, even though the speed limit is 55 mph, there is hardly a straight interior road in the state. They are all two lane with passing lanes every few miles. When you drive highway 22 and 101 you can not stay at 55 mph, although the logging trucks and semi's are pushing you all the time. After five hours of driving highway 22, you'll think your arms are going to fall off. The only time I saw a semi doing 55, it was going up hill.

Why would I want to follow the speed limit? Oregon does not have a sales tax, they make there money off of fees for anything you can think of. Your first speeding ticket in Oregon for a minor infraction can be in the hundreds of dollars. With an out of state license plate, I stayed at 55 or less.

2341 miles divided by 168 gallons works out to about 13.9 miles per gallon. That's way above the norm for the Ford V10 powering an 11,800 lb. Class C ... even when traveling at 55 MPH.

Way to go! If all of us V10 RV'ers could achieve that, there might not be much interest in diesel engines for Class C rigs.

9.5 mpg towing our Jeep Liberty, 10.5 mpg when not
Figures given are 4000 to 5000 mile trip averages

Influential Factors
Highway speeds average 65 mph
Notable generator usage naturally lowers my averages
2007 Ford E350 with gas 6.8L-V10 engine
2007 Phoenix Cruiser model 2350, 23'-8" long, 9'-10" to top of a/c and aerodynamic
RV weight on trips is just under 10,000 pounds
Jeep Liberty weighs 4300 pounds
As shown below in my signature

I suppose I could drive 55mph with a tail wind for a one hour get-away to a remote location, turn on my gas generator for the weekend and drive back home just to average One MPG.
