My water leaks out

Today I noticed that my fresh water tank is empty after being filled last week. I have not crawled underneath it yet but I suspect that the problem has something to do with the dump valve. Last week I sanitized the water system and used the dump valve several times. Now I noticed that the dump valve does not quite push in all the way

Any body else seen this problem?

The MH is 2003 36 ft Itasca Horizon .

Thanks

If you have to replace the valve they are only about $15 or $20.

I crawled under the MH today and took off an access cover on the front of the water tank. I found a gate type valve similar to the ones used for the sewage water except that it was smaller and was operated by a cable. I lubricated the mechanism and it appears to be sealing now.

Thanks for all the advise.

Some of these valves are NOT like regular household faucet type valves you might have expected. In fact, many are very lightweight. Instead of having a conventional faucet washer which has a broad and hard rubber surface which gives years of good service in homes - these have something like an o-ring which isn't as strong or wear-resistant. Take your water system valves apart to inspect these o-rings. It's a shame these were used in some RVs because they have to withstand the same pressures as household water systems supply - and a failure at the worng time can leave you stranded with no fresh water.

Mine did the same thing. I just bought it this year (97 Allegro Bus) and took it to be dewinterized on June 25th. Got a call from my mother's hospice nurse while we were at the dealer waiting that she had taken a turn for the worse so they hurried up so we could get out of there and when we got home and got out we noticed what appeared to be fresh water pouring out onto the ground. We couldn't deal with it then because we had to get to the hospital.

The water appeared to be running out of a short plastic tit/pipe kind of thing on the tank. Should there have been a cap on that?

A few days later when I had the chance I checked the monitor and the fresh tank read close to empty.

We've just finished clearing out my mother's place and catching up on yard work around here so I'll get back into the MH in the next week or so. Thanks
Thanks, Kay

Fix the leaking drain valve or replace it.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

your freshwater tank is draining....WHERE ? have you found any wet spots either in the coach or outside ?
freshwater has no direct path to any of your holding tanks (other than out of a faucet or toilet down a drain).

Have you been using fresh water? A week is a pretty long time to make a 50-90 gal go without really being a miser.

It does appear that your fresh water drain valve may be leaking. Working it back and forth may get it to seat better... Or not.

Drain Valve or dump valve? Fresh water tank shouldn't have any thing to do with the dump valve. Fresh water has to be ending up on the floor, on the ground,
or in one of the holding tanks.
