Need Headers for John Deere Chassis

Hey folks,

I have an exhaust header leak (broken header bolt) on my '88 EMC Renaissance with a Ford 460 on a John Deere Chassis. Doug Thorley quit making headers for my coach some time ago, and Banks doesn't offer anything for the JD chassis. Do you know of any other headers out there that would work? I'd hate to replace it with stock.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Thanks folks. Looks like Gibson sells a complete system still for around $1K. I think I'll give it a shot.

I'm wondering why you are replacing the headers, when it's a broken bolt?

You may want to check into custom headers. Yes, I'm sure that they will be costly, but again, you are looking for something that is pretty uncommon.

Have you considered having your existing headers repaired? A good exhaust shop or welding shop, should be able to make new ones using the ones you have, as a template. Again, pretty expensive, and it may make more sense (cents) to have them repair any weak sections of your existing pipes.

Good luck:)

I had a 87 John Deere chassis with 460 that had exhaust leaks and broken ears on both sides when I bought it. I had the gaskets replaced and sold it pronto. Good luck!

Autoplicity indicates that they have a Banks Power Pack kit for your motorhome.

I would check E-bay and Craigslist and other sites for a used set.. Or an RV wrecking yard..

Banks did make a kit for yours in 2009. The part number was 49085. I would call there tech department and see if they could put a kit together for you.
