If I felt compelled to "go electric" - I would have to opt for a tent and a couple of inflatable mattresses packed into a Chevy Bolt. There is no way I'd sleep in a 42" wide "double bed" with 6'3" Hubby.

OK, my favorite camping spot is 15 miles from home, second favorite is about 40 miles, but some trips are 120-200 miles each way. Yet sometimes I do road trips 3000 to 8000 miles. 3000 is most typical round trip, running 600 miles per day. While I might adjust to a camper van this small, the range is a challenge.

Might want to rethink that.
- Madrid to Barcelona: 386 miles
- Madrid to Seville: 332 miles
- Barcelona to Valencia: 218 miles
- Barcelona to Bilboa: 379 miles

Spain is a lot bigger than you might think and really with the reduction in border control travel is much more like in the USA where crossing to anther state is commonplace.

You could buy a Tesla SUV (my BIL has one) and sleep in the fold down backseat for a mere 150 grand loaded. Nice car, goes like a scalded dog but way overpriced and has to be charged up nightly. Except late in the article, they indicate the range is 124 miles. That's a little under 2hrs driving...in what world is that "drive most of the day".

Pure EV works OK as a commuter car as most people don't drive more than 60-80miles round trip per day. So a 2 car family with a garage, you can charge every night and if you need a longer trip, you can take the 2nd gas car. For RV's, a large percentage of trips are in excess of a 2hr range and most families don't have an alternate RV for longer trips.

I would say it needs to get up around 250-300miles to avoid being a very narrow niche (even then it would be a bit limiting). Of course if that means cramming more batteries in, you run up against GVWR issues as most RV's already have trouble with.

This is something that would work for weekend warriors or 3 day camping trips. Certainly that small space would be more comfortable for those younger than Herself and me.:W

Those are nice and well priced too. Don't work for us though. We camp off road 95% of the time. Ground clearance and 4 wheel drive are necessary.

Far as the electric camper van goes, 124 mile range isn't camping anywhere. It's going to the grocery store and thats about it.

Bet it's expensive too. About 2 times the Recon maybe?
