Pleaure Way Excel Water Leaks

I have a 2012 Excel TS that leaks like crazy and I cannot seem to find anybody that can give advise on getting them fixed. Here are the issues

1.Tail lights leak into rear inside corners.
2.Rear door windows occasionally leak from the bottom up.
3.Passenger side rear door leaks into carpeted area inside door.
4.One of the two upper front windows leaks onto micro wave.
5.Massive leak through firewall onto drivers side floor.
6.If you remove the A pillar trim on both sides you will see that they have been leaking through the seams for a long time as there are rust run marks at the bottom of each pillar.
7.Water leaks down some of the screws that penetrate the roof where the fibre glass and metal roofs join.
8.And the newest leak is over each side rear window and the interior fabric walls and curtains are now stained by some black substance that was in the water.

Items 3 and 4 may be fixed (by me). On items 2,3,5 and 6 I have been to three different Ford dealers and had the windshield resealed twice and various other attempted repairs with no positive results. With help from Neil at PW I think we know what the fix is for number 5 and I am working with a ford dealer to perform that repair.

Nobody on the pleasureway owners group seems to have had any water leaks so i thought I would ask for advise here. I have had this unit since new (16 months) and have been trying to resolve these leaks basically since new. I have no dealer support locally because I didn't buy it from the local dealer so he is not helpful. Any advise is appreciated.

This thread has never been closed, and I have not deleted any posts.
To be fair to PW, I'm going to close this now, and invite the OP to PM me when he has a resolution, and I will reopen it.
If a member has info. that may help the OP they can PM him.

queenie2 .... I have no axe to grind with Pleasure Way. We actually love the vehicle and find that for the most part that the quality is very good. You are right that very few PW owners seem to have leak issues but sadly we do. Pleasure Way have been working with me as I have said but it is a slow process because we are away now for four months and that means nothing gets done until we get back. There has also been a bit of finger pointing between PW and Ford over the last year or so and this has wasted a lot of time as well. The main PW leak is likely the result of water migrating down screws penetrating the roof where the rubber molding covers the joint between the top and bottom. We have recently had interior panels stained with rust and some other black stuff that has entered via the leak. This is a new event which has heightened the frustration. I believe that we will find a resolution in the spring and that we will get on with enjoying our Pleasure Way Excel.

I personally own a PW and am disappointed that this is all occurring. I started out thinking that possibly the op was disgruntled for some reason. The number of leaks, 8 total, is really unimaginable in a PW and farther even more unbelievable since other PW owners are not reporting similar experiences. Another observation is that about half of the leaks are Ford problems rather than PW's. I also find it hard to believe that if real PW has not sent a rep down to look things over. I am really anxious to have this issue resolved and to know the details.

We have a 2004 Excel which developed a rear leak. We followed various suggestions from this site with no success. Took it to our dealer and was told the upper seal between the top and body needed replacing--just the back half. That cost $400 but stopped the leak. I am concerned that the front half might also start leaking but so far, so good. Water leaks can be tricky because the water can appear far from where it is coming in.

To Al ... yes I have contacted Pleasure Way and they are working with me and have been for over a year. I do not have a Canadian dealer to work with as I imported the vehicle. I was hoping someone else has been through this leak issue and could offer new information on a fix. Seems no one has had these issues like I have. I will continue to try the fixes suggested and hopefully get to the end of these leaks at some point soon.

OK, I see one in Canada. How far are you from the factory?

Near Orillia Ontario almost 2000 miles from the factory. They told me they do not have factory service but it is too far to go anyway.

Have you contacted Pleasureway.com directly by email or phone. They are very helpful and it does not matter how old your PW is. They may be able to help.

I wonder if a sealtest (pressurize rig via a fan, spray soapy water on to look for bubbles) would be of any use as a starting point.

or call PLEASURE WAY INDUSTRIES LTD, 306-934-6578 ask for President MERV RUMPEL OR Dean Rumpel, vice-president of Pleasure- Way.

Their customer service is said to 2nd to none...lets see!

Just to clarify .... Neil at Pleasure Way has been helpful with suggestions and advice so I am not saying they have hung me out to dry. The local dealer has the mentality that says you bought it elsewhere so you are at the bottom of the list if you come here. As a result I am reluctant to start playing with him. Neil suggested I try a body shop on a roof reseal and get an estimate for them to approve. It seems that everyone who touches this thing has no idea what to do. I was hoping some one here may have had the experience and therefore an answer.

I have had 3 Excels including a 2012 and none of them had leaks. Call PW again and insist on talking to Dean and mention that you are discussing the problem on Rv.net and the forum referred you to him. It is very unlike PW not to handle a problem.

Keep us informed,

Nick

With that many leaks, and now damage, they should be replacing it, especially if they were told early enough that they could have fixed it before the damage. Pleasure-way usually makes a pretty well bit unit, so they should be all over this to get it taken care of. You dealer should also be helping in the dealings, because if you wind up in court, you would file on him also.

I wouldn't fix anything yourself, it will just give them an out on responsibility.
