Radio comes on

We have 2012 Mirada. It's plugged in here at the house. I just went out to get something and the Jenson radio was on. It was off before so somehow it turned itself on. Anyone else have this experience or know why it would be happening?

Thanks

Gary

Bet ya a dollar to a donut, this is the culprit. Check the alarm function info in the Jensen manual. Happens often.
This has happened to me a few times over the years and it defaults to midnight.

What a rude wakeup call!

I've noticed that my radio does the same thing however, for me it's never been a problem. I have the fade control set to 100% rear speakers which are always switched off and use the AV output to feed the main stereo amp. I never listen to the radio without the stereo amp being on. I also always use a Sirius receiver feeding the Aux input. When the radio is off, the display shows the time. When on it displays "Aux". It frequently shows "Aux" when I know I've turned it off earlier. Since I never hear anything when it turns itself on, I've never considered why it happens.

We have two Jensen radios, one in each RV we own. The one in out TC does come on by itself at times. Almost seems to be tied to using a cell phone close to it at times. But other times it has come on in the middle of the night. No pattern that I can determine.

I have had to replace both Jensen radios and the one in our 5th wheel started causing problems on our last trip. Once turned on, I have to pull the radio fuse to get it to turn off. The first trailer radio was replaced under warranty but the other I found on eBay. I too, called Jensen to see if they had a repair station but was told they didn't repair, just replaced. Think I may go with some other brand the next time.

Does it have a weather band? Our's turns on when there is a weather alert; when the alert finihes the radio goes back to the station it was set at. There is a weekly test on Wednesday.

I did not have that problem but had a Jensen in my MH that whenever you turned the radio on it would come on at full volume, every time.....Once I quickly turned the volume down it worked perfectly....Needless to say, I had to do something..

I called Jensen and actually talked to someone in their tech dept..He was friendly and said "whenever these radios start acting up with strange problems, just replace the radio....Your radio is inexpensive and not a great quality radio but it gets the job done...Go to Ebay and get one used"........So I did....

Got one used, out of a MH, the guy was upgrading his radio.....Slid the old one out and new one in, all worked fine..Still working 3 yrs later...

Jensen is not known for quality radios...

The battery that keeps the memory is being disconnected. It should be wired to the chassis system for memory. There could be a switch that changes the radion from chassis to coach.
It doesn't matter which position it is in for your problem.
