RE Even new rigs need to be inspected My Winnebago story

Well we Bought a new 2016 Sunova 36z. We sold the DP and could not decide which route to go but the wife really likes the 36z floor plan so that is what is in the driveway.. Dealer did a great job on the walkthru and the PDI. We drive the rig home and notice we have a leak it stops when we are parked yet leaks when we drive took it back to the dealer and to make along story short there is a hole on the top of the tank you can see water shooting from when you overfill the tank that runs into our rear compartments flooding them. It also leaks if the tank is almost full as it sloshes out of the tank. So now we are waiting for a replacement tank to be sent from Winnie . So we take the rig on a few day trip to some property we own and do dry camping on we brought our water in a spare tank in the back of my Pickup so we could enjoy the trip.
And we did enjoy the rip the motorhome worked great everything seemed to be wonderful tested everything out and all worked. Drove home with the rear Grey tank at 2/3s and the front grey full both black tanks were less then 1/2 or 1/3 when we got home we had water leaking again the rear grey tank was dumping on the street from what appears to be the inlet that shifted do to no brackets to hold the grey tank in place as your driving it.
So wife and I decided we better test all the tanks and the black tank on the rear seems to have shifted as well as when filled it leaks out the top. So that is where we stand now and i am hoping all will be well when we get things fixed soon. Trust me I will let you all know how things go. lucky it was only a 14 mile drive or so with the tanks moving other wise things might have got more interesting spilling grey water around every corner LOL

Oh yes the washer as well is fine and works great. May have to run it back to Roy's and have them check the hot water tank. On gas it gives a big poof sometimes when lighting. I thought it was just the angle of the igniter as I straightened it out a bit and all was well. But today again I could hear the igniter clicking and the gas was flowing and again it made a big poof when it started

Glad everything is working (I assume the washer issue fixed as well). I too wonder how some of this stuff gets out the door, but its been on every brand RV I've had.

I bought my 2016 Winnebago Vista LX 30T from Roy Robinson. The most major repair was adjusting all three slides because of seal gaps. There seems to be a pattern of RR rebuilding these coaches, which is disturbing. The other issue that I have is that they have a 2 or 3 month lead time for scheduling coaches for warranty repair, which means if I have an issue at this point the coach will be out of warranty by the time they work on it. Don't tell me that they will honor the warranty anyway. I took my 2011 in for repair of the jacks when it was out of warranty by a few weeks. Although I cleared the issue with both HWH and Winnebago about a week before the warranty expired, they stuck me with part of the bill. The excuse was that it was out of warranty.

Sorry to hear about your problems and hope you get them fixed correctly and have no further problems. It's important to get all the bugs out. I hope Winnebago takes care of you. I love Roy Robinson RV outstanding customer service. We bought are Winnebago new from Roy Robinson back in Jan. 2004 and it's still going strong with very little problems.

Yes Roy Robinson is a great place just disappointed that so many water problems. Not sure how a couch could have left the factory like that.
Very good follow up report!

Well here is the up date dropped coach off last week at Roy Robinson on monday as they called the week before to let me know water tank was in stock. they called on thursday and we picked up coach fresh water tank does not leak as they replaced it and drove home with a full tank of water. They flood tested the black and grey tanks over night and tell me they are good as well. so all seems to be good with the coach now and as usual Roy robinson did well. I I will give credit to winnebago they got a new fresh tank to them in short order . We do love the coach and everything else seems to function well went thru a big rain storm with all the slides out and the good news is no leaks from the top .

Well dealer called and our new fresh water tank is in and we are bringing it to them next week. Thought I would check out the washer to check its operating ability. Well seemed to work just fine until the drain cycle. Water seems to be coming from the drain pipe and started to run out under the slide. Some water went into the holding tank so looks like a major leak on the drain line by the washer. Sure wonder how this unit was treated before being delivered to the dealer. Going to call Winnie and see if I can get an answer about what went on beginning to think something happened to this coach

Well I am lucky that my dealer roy robinson is top notch and I am sure they will fix everything even better than it came from the factory . But yes Gbopp I sure will keep you all informed as to the outcome. So far I am just mildly disappointed and lucky for us it has two sets of holding tanks so my vacation time will not have to be spent at home staring at the motorhome LOL.

It may take a few visits for them to get it right....It did for me! And some they would not touch that is why I am going to FC this Fall
Good Luck!!

Can you not take it to their new factory service center in oregon???

Yes. I am disappointed in Winnebago. Had a crack in roof when delivered. Repaired like new. Had a soft spot on floor. Repaired. Satellite radio didn't work. New radio. Matrix didn't work, New Matrix and had to retire satellite as it was a mess with coax in wrong face plate locations and the power to satellite wired wrong. I changed the washer hoses as they were reversed. Hope we are done with repairs. 2016 38 Q.

I was just reading a forum about Winnebago problems and it appears there are lots of them on the newer rigs.

This a separate hole not where the fill pipe or vent is. I
want to fill my tank not leave it 3/4 full
