Hi there does anyone have one of these? It looks comfy to recline with dual controls on some models then easily converts to bed. Just wondering how comfortable the recliner is and the bed without adding any soft toppers? Also where you found yours if it did not come with motorhome. Any others out there you like? thanks

The L shape rest easy is awesome. We are only looking, but that is one of the few couches that it looks like you can lounge in comfortably. Others have a small foot pad that pops up, but doesn't do much more than that.

Sleeping it might be lumpy -

THANKS so much to everybody please keep the thread going. I appreciate the fact I did not even know you could sleep the other direction..i am 5 3 but I remember rv beds where you are short on space and its no fun to keep hitting the end all nite..so will get the exact dimensions...btw it will be our easy chairs and my bed each nite so I want to make the right decision....

We have a single control Rest Easy in our 2004 Itasca. I'm 5'3", so I either pull out the ottoman or sit with legs on the sofa, while WLToo sits in the rocker/recliner. Have slept on it many times, and it's really, really comfortable, whether sleeping crossways or lengthways, and our tall friends have had no issues being comfortable on it.

Suggest you look for a Rest Easy at RV salvage places; they're great sofas, but Winnebago is clearly trying to keep them for the Winnebago lines with that crazy pricing.

Hikerdog is correct. I am 5 feet tall and put the ottoman out to sit comfortably. We add a thin foam topper to the bed when guests are using it. I actually like this sofa a lot because I can have my feet up and still be sitting up straight. If you are short you will understand why that is good.

We have the "Easy Rest" dual control sofa in our 2013 Adventurer. Personally I like it, but my wife isn't so fond of it. It has a fairly deep seating surface which doesn't work well if you're 5' 3" or less. With the deep seating surface and short legs your knees are on the seating surface rather than at the edge. Your legs are suspended in air rather than bending at the knees and allowing your feet to touch the floor.

I regularly use the couch when watching TV. Occasionally I slightly recline the back, but most of the time it's in the upright position. Even in the upright position it's on enough of an angle to be comfortable.

It makes a comfortable bed if you're short enough to sleep on it length ways (I'm 5'9"). If you have to raise the "ottomans" and sleep in the same direction you sit on it that's a different story. There's a small gap between the normal "seating" area and the ottoman extensions. While it makes the sleeping area longer it also puts your knees in the gap. In addition it totally blocks the walkway between the couch and the dinette. No one can go to the drivers or passengers seating area without climbing over the sleeping area.

As far as I know it's a Winnebago exclusive. "Rest Easy" is a brand name made by the "Stitchcraft" division of Winnebago. I don't know if they make it for brands other than those in the Winnebago family.

Here's a link to some information from Winnebago Industries about the "Rest Easy" couch.

Note if you click on the bottom picture it shows a video of the couch being extended to the sleeping position. Also note the video fades to full bedding before the seating area is fully extended. Thus there is nothing showing the small gap between the seating area and the ottomans.

About a year ago I got a quote from Winnebago for the replacement of the uncomfortable sofa in our Sunstar. The quote for a Rest Easy sofa was approximately $8,000! This included us bringing the RV to Forest City and having the installation done there at the factory. $8,000? We'll pass.
