Showers in Class B motorhomes?

Are there any Bs that have a side wet bath, rather than an aisle shower? I find it very difficult to tell from photos.

In the case of the aisle shower.... how much of a pain is it to use? Can you manage a shower without getting everything around wet? Is the shower curtain area big enough for an XL size person?

Seems to me that if the aisle shower is in use, any other person around has to stay either in the back or the front, no getting through. Is this correct?

I really really dislike hiking to a campground shower, even if it's super nice and sparkling clean. I like the looks of many Bs I've seen. Just not sure if I'll be able to get happy with an aisle shower.

I have 3 rigs. A 2005 Chinook Concourse Ford E350, a 1997 Airstream B190 Ford E350, and a 1990 Coachmen B Ford E350.

The Chinook has a wet bath. The good: Plenty of room to stand up and take a nice shower. The bad: It gets humid in there and sometimes smells. No heat duct in shower. So it gets cold in there in the winter unless you leave the door open.

The 1990 Coachmen Ford E350. Small bathtub in the back. I'm a small guy and I have to sit down in it. Not the most comfy shower, but it gets the job done. But OMG, the toilet is the BEST!!! It has a heat duct that throws warm air on my leg when I'm using the toilet. Feels so good! Mmmm. ๐Ÿ˜„ Cozy bathroom and it does not smell.

The 1997 Airstream B190. Ford E350. I have never showered in it, it's a restoration project. It has a one piece fiberglas shower/toilet/sink combo in the back with overhead cabinets. I think it would be comfortable to stand up and shower in. Has a heat duct too.

What are YOUR pros and cons to a wet bath vs a dry bath???

Our 07 Airstream Interstate on the Sprinter chassis has an ample wet bath. We prefer showering at campgrounds but use our wet bath sparingly when boondocking or when the campground showers are just too funky. I removed the shower curtain as we can each use our shower with the door closed. My wet bath does not have a sink in it which helps.

Its easier to sit on a tree stump and wash out of a bucket!:E

LOL I've done that too. But in a class B at least you have privacy and hot water!

The Winnebago Travato 59G has a large side shower and the Travato 59K has an even larger rear bath.

coolmom42 - We had a 2001 PW Excel on the Dodge chassis with the side beds, enjoyed the unit very much, got good gas mileage, was well built. Had no problems with driving or anything mechanical at all. We preferred CG showers if they were clean as there was more room than in the side bath, and nothing to clean up or dry down. Found that the private RV park showers were usually a little better than COE, NPS, etc ownerships. You will like PW's quality.

Many of the older, 99s and older, have a dry bath across the back. These include Airstream, GWV, Coachmen, Holidaire and many more. Most of these have an upstairs bedroom over the cab as well as a dinette or couch which convert to beds. They are easy to find and just about anyone can work on them. If you want used and a large Br and xtra beds, Maybe a 90s rig might be worth looking into. Most are made in NA, many have low mileage and are great bargains. Not a large investment so not much to lose if you trade up later.
If you come to the rally in the spring you'll see many styles and layouts on display, and you'll get input from the owners not salesmen.

I'm really leaning towards an early 2000s Pleasure Way, with the twin beds.

we have a 2006 PW Lexor TD- it is great ( only 2 seats though!)
Chev chassis. aisle shower.

We use campground showers- if we are somewhere so remote that there is not a shower...we use the outdoor shower.

the moisture is too much inside the van ( for me), and I don;t want to deal with it.

so the shower curtain and pan are stored in the garage, also the large table top (never used it, haven;t used the small round one yet either)

If you are ok with an aisle shower you'll be happy with the lexor, the widebody Excel TD may suit you better- a neighbor has one and he likes it alot.
Ford chassis.
He did a self-conversion to 4WD

very very happy with our van.

some dealers have sales videos on youtube where you can see how well they move around the cabin and the features.

roadtrek is great about legacy brochures on their website.
populars seat 3, versatiles seat 4- seats can be made up into sleepers
200 series models are widebodies

if you are not tall, you can look at sideways beds ( RT versatile model) otherwise fore/aft sleepers are better.
most older RT models have a drop floor section- I trip on the transitions.

RT's pack alot into the space...but the cabinetry can make feel closed in.

OK thanks for the tips on the Roadtreks, too.

I need to get to a few RV shows, and get some better visuals, but since I will be buying used, the exact versions won't be at RV shows. Trying to gather all the info I can before running around looking.

We loved our two Roadtreks. In thirty years of RVing, neither my wife or I have ever used a campground shower. We prefer the shower in our RV. Our 210P Roadtrek had twin beds and a wet bath. The wet bath, Coolmom, has its own drain in answer to your question. There is a secondary system in the aisle with a separate drain and you can use it for an aisle shower as an alternative to the wet bath. In other words, two in one: wet bath and aisle shower in those units.

Yes. That will be your option for most B floorpans today. Only Roadtrek does the shower in the aisle thing, and that only for certain models on the Chevrolet Express platform, which allows them to cut into the floor. Nobody else does the shower in the aisle, nobody but Chevrolet allows cutting out the floor.

Anything else, the shower is in either a wet bath unit, or a separate shower in a dry bathroom, which takes up a huge amount of space, so that it will most likely be a B that accommodates two people at the most. Look at Winnebago's Era 70C for a dry bath in the back. Gulfstream offered something similar, dry bath in the back, inside a Sprinter van around 2003-2004.

Thanks for the tips.

I'm really leaning towards an early 2000s Pleasure Way, with the twin beds. I will be traveling alone some, but at times my sister or a grandchild will be with me.

I plan to be ready to pull the trigger on one by this time next year.

Pleasure-way Plateau, Great West Van Legend, Advanced RV, all Sprinters, have very adequately sized wet baths that you can shower standing up with door closed. The toilet stool is in the bathroom and you could use it to sit down on as an option but you don't have to.

Any Sprinter model that puts the shower on the passenger side is much more cramped.
