That is where I'd be bringing in the law -- that is theft. The warranty company can show who cashed the check. I'm assuming the warranty company will want to get their money back.

You would think, but when I asked them they said it was between me and the RV storage people. They didn't even want to send me a copy of the invoice of the work. They finally figured they were getting screwed out of $4500 bucks. I received the invoice for January and it isn't even close to my signature. I have to sign an affidavit saying I didn't sign it.They don't send a check, the service company faxes a work order that is supposed to be signed by the RV owner with the repairs and estimate and then they give them a credit card # to repair.

Comic Strip, I think it is Family Circus, they have a re-curing character.

Something gets broken and the parents ask the Kids "WHO DID IT" and the kids all rply NOT ME, NOT ME

NOT ME is a ghost (That's the recurring character).

The storage lot, of course, made you sign a bit of paper called a"HOLD HARMLESS"

You have two choices
1: Hire an attorney to explain the value of that document to the storage facility.
2: Turn the matter over to your Insuranc and let THEIR attornies do the job.

On, there is a 3rd choice.. Pay it yourself, but let's forgt that one.

That's not the half of it. Went to renew my coach warranty for 4 more years and they raised the rates because I've had $4,500 worth of work done. Seems that the RV storage place is also a repair shop and someone was signing my name to a dummy work order without me knowing it. Said I had a new HWH control board installed on 1-15-2015 for $1833.06. The warranty company sent me a copy of the faxed order and it definitely isn't my signature. Went to get original warranty papers out of overhead and they are gone. Talked to another owner yesterday that stores a coach exactly like mine and he said they put the same board on his last August. Mine is still the original.

Exactly where is this storage facility that carries no liability insurance?? I've never herd of a business that carries no insurance!!

A year ago in Michigan we had roofs of several storage facilities collapse with snow loads including one with my brother's MH. Several other RVs, collectible cars including one local barn full of Corvettes with some damaged beyond repair.
Storage facility insurance does NOT cover contents in Michigan. Vehicle owners who did not have current comprehensive insurance lost out.

Also read an interesting article recently about Liability insurance for your RV while stored. Thought about the large RV storage fires in Florida (?) over the winter. If an RV owner had canceled their Liability insurance while stored and their unit had an electrical short, fridge fire etc causing the storage facility to burn.... That would be one HUGE Liability lawsuit.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the topic

Archie, you have a very nice coach. I would be livid. The damage doesn't look as bad as I was imagining. But, still, they are a bunch of jerks for not owning up to the damage.

Hope that you are back whole again soon.

They are saying they didn't do it. It's their word against mine I guess.

It's not big deal.I ordered the repair part of the fiberglass fender from Newmar for $249. I have a body and paint man working for me on our race cars. Not a big deal. I just don't want to have to drive 400 miles up to Newmar and 400 back.He said he can shoot the doors.
My Wife has the insurance on the Coach and said they would fix it and it wouldn't be on my record because it was damaged sitting still.I don't know how you bend the electric steps back, tear off the front of the wheel well and scrape the three rear basement doors without it moving but your guess is as good as mine.

I have a you tube video of it but I don't think you can tag it in the Forum. You guys would get a kick out of the Three Wild Turkeys that follow me around it.

You probably signed the storage rental agreement that absolves them of any responsibility for the damage. That is what they are hanging their hat on. And you are right, It's all about money and keeping their insurance costs down. Have your insurance handle the needed repairs and they will go after the storage co.

By the way; accidents don't just happen, Accidents are caused and Accidents are preventable.

Eureka Mo."Lessor carries no insurance which in any way covers any loss that occupant may have in the premises" That's what the contract says. He may have insurance but good luck trying to find out about it.It's not the coverage, it's the trust that you had that they would take care of your property. If only two people are allowed to move anything inside, why would they both say they don't know what happened? It's not bothering me that it happened, it's just you kind of know they did it and won't even talk to you about it. They are more upset about me bringing it up then I am.
The estimate to repair the fender is only $2200. which doesn't include the three basement doors, After paying next years rent and being told to look elsewhere and they say no refunds on rental payment.

Ha ! Yes we've had a repair shop rub the mirrors on the entrance door and deny responsibility. At the storage yard all that has happened is the theft of our nice chrome valve stem caps from the tires.. but just goes to show they were out there looking !

I'm afraid you will have to notify your insurance company and file through them. I doubt very seriously the storage lot will admit fault. It's possible your insurance company could subrogate against them, but it's a case of he said, he said and unfortunately you have no proof. I'm sure they have something stating they are not responsible for damage and since "insurance follows the vehicle" your insurance will be responsible. Sorry
