So I see that winnebago makes itasca line of MHs. The sunova and sightseer look identicle to me. Is there a difference in quality between the two brands/models?

Bill, both are great coaches! IMHO, I would go with the one that has the best floor plan that suits your needs!

We really enjoy the ride, power, and quality of our new Adventurer. A few things we didn't consider when we bought it were the height of the microwave oven and the depth of the cabinets in the galley and living area.

I'm 5' 8" and my wife is 5' 2" which makes reaching into the cabinets or microwave a bit difficult. Also its hard to reach the speed selection switches in the bathroom and galley vent fans. Our microwave and cabinets are mounted at the upper limits of the full wall slide.

In our older motorhome the microwave had a shallow cabinet above it and the galley and living area cabinets weren't as deep.

Earlier this year at the Winnebago GNR I saw several new (2015) models with lower microwaves and shallower cabinets. I don't remember which models they were, but when it comes time to replace our current motorhome those items will surely be among those we consider.

When we ordered our Sightseer we got a call from another dealer offering to beat the Winnebago Sightseer by 500 dollars. We had all ready placed the order and payed a deposit for the Sightseer. Also we liked the paint and inside colors better. We have friends with a Sunova and it is a year newer a 2012 but the wood work and placement was the same. So it is what you like better .

We have a 2007 Itasca Sunrise (between the Sunova and the Suncruiser, no longer made.) We had the usual first year issues, which were taken care of by Winnebago, with no problems. Since then it has been a sterling performer. If I should buy again, Itasca would be very high on my list of choices. Their product is very good quality and the manufacturer support is outstanding.

For those who have either line, how have they performed? Any major issues? Would you buy it again? We are close to pulling the trigger.
Thanks

When we were looking for a new motorhome we considered both the Itasca Suncruiser and the Winnebago Adventurer. The Suncruiser listed for about $2,000.00 more than a comparably equipped Adventurer. We asked why and were given the same answer from all the dealers. It's simply a difference in interior and exterior color schemes.

Not liking that answer we contacted Winnebago Customer Relations. We were given a list of the differences. All in all the color schemes were the main differences. There were a couple other differences like badging and a trim piece here and there.

When we started negotiating with the first dealer they didn't care which of the two we were interested in. The final price was the same for either. Not liking that tactic we checked out several different dealers. By in large we found the same situation. For some reason the Itasca motorhomes still carry a list price of several thousand dollars over the same model Winnebago motorhome equipped with identical amenities.

We finally found a dealer that did differentiate between the Itasca and Winnebago models. The best part was they were several thousand dollars below any of the dealers we talked to previously. We chose the Adventurer, not because of the price difference, but rather because we liked both the interior and exterior colors better.

Its not only trim and color. It is also stuff: auto power transfer; remote generator start; inverter; etc. Some are standard on one and optional on the other. A side note: I've found that the wiring harnesses are the same for both. This made it easy for me to add an inverter to my Sightseer. You'll love either one...its what your pocketbook will handle.

I could have purchased either the Itasca or Winnebago when I finally bought the Sightseer 35G. We liked the color combinations available better in the Winnebago but just a matter of our taste.

Sometimes I wonder why RV manufacturers do this. Just make it the same way with different trim packages rather than calling it something else.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

It may be just a coincidence, but the dealer locators at gowinnebago and goitasca show two of the three dealers nearest me carry both lines. One of the dealers had a 35B from each. I went through both and didn't notice a difference other than exterior and interior colors.

Also, it seems to me, that the Itasca line is slightly more expensive and has some slightly upgraded trims.

There are only a few dual line Winnebago/Itasca dealers. Almost all carry one or the other not both.

No difference in quality or workmanship. The only difference between a Winnebago Industries Winnebago Sightseer and a Winnebago Industries Itasca Sunova is colors and some subtle trim differences. If they are built exactly the same and shipped to the same dealer, they will also cost the same as well.

OK, thanks Boomer. That is what I thought, but wasn't sure.
