Texas safety inspection

My safety inspection has expired and I am facing difficulties renewing. The MH is registered in Polk county with no emission test required. I am visiting the Dallas area in a couple of weeks on my way to Yuma. Dallas and surrounding areas require an emission test, which I would like to avoid. I received a warning ticket last April traveling through Texas. Has anyone faced this situation? Thanks.

New York is one of those re-inspection states as well.

and for what it is worth if your inspection is expired ANY STATE you pass through can give you a ticket for unsafe vehicle.

A couple of years ago we were in the Dallas area when the state inspection came due. The inspection station had me sign an affidavit stating I was not required to have an emissions inspection because my county of residence did not require one. The registration sticker shows the county where the vehicle is registered.

The Texas Inspection is done per where YOU have it registered. If you come to a Emission area, they do NOT do the Smog test, just the test that you are required to have in your county. So, you can go to any facility that can handle large vehicles. Doug

Curious why you got a warning ticket. Who gave it to you?
Two options:
Pretend you forgot and they will not give you a ticket usually
or if they do it's not a moving violation on your driving record.
Get it done in a non-smog inspection city
