It's that time, to replace our motorhome tires. We have
235 80R 22.5 on it now. We want to replace them with Yokohama tires. Question is what size?

No not a trick Question.

We need to know tire size, we have a friend that works at Yokohama that can get them for us.

I had a 2002 Winnebago Journey with factory installed 235/80 Michelin's. I replaced them with 275/70 Goodyear G670's from Thompson's in Rocky Mount, VA. There was no problem with fit. The G670's lasted 7 years.
X-2, Goodyear G-670 and Michelin XRV are the only 2 soft rubber RV tires made for RV applications (these tires are made for RV specs due to RV's sit for a long periods of time). All other tires are truck tires FYI. My first set of MichelinXRV's lasted 10 years and I'm into year 2 with my second set. Good Luck with your Yokohama truck tires!

Don't read my post as a recommendation for the G670's. They fit but the front tires developed river wear (a form of cupping on the outer edges) in less than 3 years and I did not have an alignment issue. Many have reported this problem with G670's. I replaced the Goodyear with Hankook and was very satisfied with them. While XRV's and G670's are 'RV' tires, I believe any high quality commercial truck tire will give as good service and last long if cared for properly.

Just looked at the paperwork. In our last rig, a DP that came with Michelin 235/80/22.5, we put on Toyo M154 245/75/22.5. Yokohama may or may not have a replacement. Call or email Yoko and ask. Let us know. I have pretty new Michelins 255/80/22.5 on our new rig. Hope to find Toyo or Yokohama replacements when the time comes. Don't want to pay 600 bucks a tire if I can help it.

I have always relied on the tire seller to know what to replace the michelins with when I have bought Toyos. One parameter is a little smaller and the other is a little larger. Don't remember which. The Yokohama website may offer some help.

Tires - OH the Tires!! This is not an answer to your specific question (brand & size) but some added information for consideration:

When I purchased our present rig, I needed to replace the tires AND I was not too happy with the CCC. SO...I started digging to find out the basis of the figures.
After MUCH discussion with Spartan (chassis) and Rexhall (coach) plus calls to the makers of the axles and brakes to get their numbers, it turns out the actual basis of the ccc was the el-cheapo load rated 'G' tires ordered for the chassis!! (I guess the making folks save some money at every opportunity!!) The chassis, the axles, the brakes and other components had higher allowable capacity!! THEREFOR...with an upgrade to 'H' rated tires, I increased the true ccc greatly!!
FWIW - the fronts were OK weightwise, but the rears were the problem - In my case, the Goodyear 22.5 'G' rating is 5780 in dual configuration, 'H' is 6750 lbs. So the four replaced rear tires improved my rated capacity by 3880 lbs - but the tires are now more than the axle rating, so I now use the axle rating as my maximum - and stay well under it!!

PLEASE - this is my specific situation - do your own research about your own rig and make an informed decision!!

235 80 22.5 is only made by I believe Michelin ( I had them on my journey ) so I assume the op wants some replacement sizes that would work from other manufacturers. I just replaced the michelin with Michelin so never looked.
