Walk Through

I just purchased a new 2015 RV and before delivery we did a quick walk through. We found a few issues that the dealer fixed, they told us to take it out for a weekend and make a list of all the things we find because there will be issues and then bring it back.

We found one major one and a few minor ones and set an appointment to bring it in.

My question is:

1. Should I mention the small things we found like very small dings on doors, or bent corners on luggage doors, chips, stuff like that?

2. It has been a couple of weeks since we brought it home (contacted them 3 days after on the major problem), will this still be considered the walk through or will they cover on the warranty, the reason I ask is because if its the warranty, they don't fix if the problem happens again!

Thanks.

Your warranty should start after you bought the RV and the mileage after it got to the point of sales. I know I got my from an estate sales and in the paper work it showed the mileage to the point of original sales and that is when the warranty started to the first buyer.

Agree with the others. Since it is new, make a comprehensive list and have the dealer fix them all (unless you want to fix them yourself.... some folks elect to fix simple things rather than go through the incontinence of taking it back to a dealer).

Too late now but a better option would have been do a thorough inspection, list all the defects you could see/detect, then make the sale on condition of all of them being fixed before you gave them any money.

X2 lean on them, hard if need be. Be pleasant but don't take NO for an answer. They sold it to you as new not with discount for a show or demo unit. It may take some time now, but you will be happier later on. Bent door corners just get worse and eventually tear your favorite jacket.

Well this class A was new, but had 2200 miles on it, I am assuming it was driven from the factory to California. Also made a couple of RV show stops. I appreciate all of the comments. I will definitely walk around the outside and pick out all of chips, dings, dents, scuffs and everything else I see. I just didn't know if that would be nit picking. Some of the doors don't close right and some of the corners of the luggage doors are bent out a little.

The interior looks pretty flawless, so I will target the exterior.

keystone had a problem with free standing kitchen tables. in the heat of eastern Oregon they would split in two. replaced many several times until they found a better glue for the wood used to make the tables.

brand new unit? you bet, get it fixed no matter how small. You paid for a zero defect unit, make them deliver.

Heck yeah! That's why you pay the premium for new. And the dealer gets reimbursed from the manufacturer for anything that may have been a manufacturing defect so don't hesitate to mention anything and everything. If you'd wanted USED you'd have bought USED :B

Somebody has told you the warranty only covers one fix and if it breaks again it isn't covered??? That's a new one on me. Never heard of such a thing and never saw a warranty that worked that way.

I would have them fix anything you are not happy with.

This isn't true. If the same thing keeps breaking they will cover the same item multiple times until the problem is fixed or your warranty runs out. If the dealer told you that he was lying.
