While talking to the RV tech there found out that the work I done previously at an "authorized" Fleetwood dealer was pretty pricey. ( I didn't go to where I bought it from as they are further away - what I saved on gas cost me plenty on service costs!)

Example,to recertify the propane, at the Fleetwood dealer cost me $398, he charges $250. He also pointed out that they did the wrong type of certifiction as the plate on the tank was not updated (they certified it as a propane powered vehicle!).

Hi Chris
You mention that you got your propane certified. As there is no requirement for this in Ontario I'm wondering why you would have this done. I understand it is desirable to have the system checked regularly by qualified people but I don't understand the "certificate".

DW and I washed the coach today. I put a new catch on a sliding drawer. That was one of the items that was supposed to have been repaired at Dixie RV the past three weeks. After we got the coach home from Dixie RV the front TV won't come on. I am not impressed with their service.

Lubed front-end and driveline u-joints. Pulled tag axle tires and checked electric brake shoes and magnets. Just another happy day in paradise.

Repaired my Splendide washer/dryer combo. Thought I had a bad control board but it turns out after a second look, I missed one of the "A / B wires" was broken on the motor. The break occured completely inside the insulation, never saw an external indication. Now I got her working like new again. DIY'ers beware of this, just like the note in their service manual states, pull on the "A / B wires" to make sure they are not broken. In my case, it took motor removal, a through wire by wire inspection until I felt the insulation had a funny spot in it. After finding it the repair was easy. I probably wasted money on a control board but it is a mistake I'll happily eat for the learning experience. Now I have a spare board I suppose. Hmmmm, what else, replaced one of my reading lights, just a bulb. I semi-full time it in my coach, Navy geographical bachelor for another year until I hopefully transfer somewhere close to the family again.

Not a whole lot done after work today. Pull it out of the garage and scrubbed the back rims. After having the brake lines done last week the mechanic put the inside duals on the outside and they were gross. Needed to use a wire brush to get the grim off. Will spray paint them next week (white).

Changed out an ABS wheel sensor, greased the U-joints and shaft, and sprayed undercoat on the outside of the electric compartment with caulking on the inside to try and water proof better.. Had some seepage coming home from the South in hard down pour rains..
Fixed the door hold open so it works and stays open..
Found and fixed another leak at the enterance door..
I had sealed the oil sending sensor to get it to stop beeping in the rain, I think I got it, there was no beeping in the rain coming home.. That's all for now.. Still got some things I like to do, but we're getting ready to hit the road again and they'll wait..

Gee, should have told me. I have a complete spare unit! :R

Ours went intermittent in Whitehorse. Drove 5 miles down the Alaska Highway with the slides out :E --even the tech couldn't make them retract manually in the campground.

I kept the old unit with us for parts and in Mexico got the motor fixed for 200 pesos: $16.50!

Oh well it probably wouldn't have fitted anyway.:B

The tornadoes and heavy rain exposed a small leak in my roof.. Actually, under normal circumstances it may not have been a leak at all. But, given the high winds and torrential rains I experienced a roof leak. The issue is, that the rubber roof that was done a couple of years ago started coming apart. The wind blew the rubber up and forced the rain in. So, water was forced in. I cut the new-ish rubber off and covered the MH in a tarp. I have 5 gallons of rubber roof on it's way. The last coating was done with the stuff they sell at Camping world. I am very disappointed in how that stuff has deteriorated. It's like, a year and a half old and has completely failed. The previous owner used the cleaner and it looks like he did the job exactly as the directions instructed. But, it failed.

The reviews of pro-guard rubber roof seem to be far better. So, when it gets here I will re-cover the roof.

Earlier this week I had a new roof top air conditioner installed. Yesterday, one good coat of elastomeric paint on the roof. By the time you put one coat on in this sunlight, you are about blind and suntanned. When they say bright white reflective, believe it. I will wait a couple of days before the next coat and wear sunglasses!! Lessons learned...
