Windshield Falling Out

I have a 1990 class A Mallard 30 ft. The windshields have popped out of the gasket, not completly, but to the point that the bottom edge of the glass is exposed. This is the 2nd time that we had the glass reset. The glass shop say's this is common to motorhomes. Is this true?

I have a very small spot on the top right corner of the passenger side windshield where it just misses the gasket (probably by 1/8"). Not certain if this is a bad install or the thing has shifted a bit.

I need to get mine resealed due to the previous owner using a poor generic seal and it leaks. Local RV shop said they have resealed two other ones this week due to them popping out and slipping, so not uncommon to them.

I've also heard it's fairly common. Motor homes are not that rigid to begin with and as they age, they loosen up. When the motor homes twists over bumps or with jacks, etc it's not that hard for the windshield to pop out. Also, as they are exposed to sun, windshield gaskets shrink and harden so they become more susceptible to it.

On a somewhat related not, I've heard that with 3 jack hydraulic systems, you always want to raise the front (of motorhome) first otherwise, it's possible to crack the windshield if you raise the back first and then the front.

Our 2006 Intruder has a similar issue. Yes, they told me it's not uncommon especially at times and pops the seal.for longer rvs. The frame twists

Several years ago the windshields on our 96 Southwind were starting to pop out. I went to a glass shop recommended by a local RV dealer.
The shop removed and reset both windshields. The shop said the glass was not installed properly at the factory. They used the original rubber seals and lots of glue.
I've had no problems with them coming loose since they were reset.

Not sure about some of the older MHs but in the newer ones I do not believe it is common. I had a new windshield installed about 4 years ago. Installer told me not to go to a specific park because the entry to the spots caused lots of windshields to pop out. No one at the park of nearly 200 spaces had ever heard of it happening. But a couple of years later it did slip some. The factory reinstalled and said it was not installed properly when replaced. Who do you believe.
