I had a W22 in my Mountain Aire 3778 and it was very quiet going down the road. The coach builder has a lot to do with soundproofing their coach. This shows what new ownership can do for a chassis maker.

Who is "PSI" and what is their reliability track record?

this is great news for the industry, more options and competition breeds innovation and updates. Hopefully this forces ford to throw a beefier version of the Ecoboost in their F53 chassis, I for one think that would make a great option with all that low end torque.

PSI manufacture of the 8.8L also makes a 6.0L engine.

I wonder if they will use Bosch brakes and Actia Gauges.

I wouldn't mind a rear-engined gasser, but if the price is too high, it might not be worth it compared to a real DP.

Love the fact that a generator (wonder if it is a true APU) is built into the chassis.

IMO it would be the most interesting combo; their existing UFO design with the new big gas engine. But, why would it cost more than a FreightLiner or Spartan chassis? It would need to cost significantly less in order to be viable....IMO

Now, that would be cool! That 8.8 V8 in a pusher chassis, would give the diesel pusher manufacturers some good competition. And, like already said, competition is good for ALL of us. Somebody needs to give Ford some competition in this (gasser MH chassis) market, they've had it cornered for too long.

Still, though, I would not want to buy a MH built on this chassis, until they've had them out for a few years and got the bugs worked out. I don't like being anybody's 'guinea pig', haha. ๐Ÿ™‚

Personally I would like to see them add 14" to the wheelbase. Our Mountain Aire on the W22 rides and drives great but I think the added wheelbase would be a real benefit.
It's great to see them coming back. The 8.8 sounds like the real deal and coupled with the Allison trans, now that will be a BEAST.

The wheelbase on the W22 and W24 series chassis always has been adjustable according to the coach builder up to 242". I am sure that they could make it longer if the coach floor plan requires a longer wheelbase.

I read the article thanks for posting it Arch! But, it's unclear to me who the two engine manufactures are going to be for the small and big block engines? My Workhorse W-22 Chassis is no longer obsolete!
