dry food pantry

In the summer we park the camper for a few months. Then only use a few weekends. So I try to pack a lot of dry foods. Sometimes I need a meal using only dry foods. It takes the refrig. overnight to chill. So when we get there we only have dry food to cook a meal. Butter is the most challenging. Eggs also. I have powder milk as a standby. But do not care for it.

Dollar stores sometimes have milk in a box that doesn't need refrigeration. I haven't tried it but a number of "survival" sites talk about it. Just another option

We always have a quart or two of Parlamat on hand. Its real milk in a box that does not need refrigeration. I buy which strength has the longest shelf life, usually up to 9 months. Also a couple boxes of Banquet Home style dinners for those rushed meals.

Butter can be at room temp. Just put it in a plastic food container. Use within 5 days. I always have a stick in the butter dish, which sits on the countertop full-time.

Our first night out is always Dinty Moore stew with garlic toast from the partial loaf of bread that traveled with us. There's time enough the next day to get creative.

I remember packing an ice chest for years as I did not travel with propane on.
Could you take one with you for the first overnight and breakfast?

Is there a question in there?
