......Yup, just as described.

After cooking up a mess of bacon, leave the fat in the pan and place your bread slices therein.

Fry golden brown....wait a minute for it to cool down and devour.

Used to do this a lot in my teen and 20's when I was batching it. Still here at 75 with no heart problems.

I do weigh 575 lbs however 🙂

When I make a BLT I rub butter on the pan and then toast the bread in it. It does a nice job of toasting and buttering all at the same time.

That was our standard procedure at home in the 50's. Bacon, eggs, and fried bread. We all survived, and even ate snow sometimes (well, you check it carefully first).

Mama didn't fry bread slices in a lot of bacon grease, but she did toast the bread in the skillet after frying up the bacon and eggs etc., so we got that nice smoky, bacony flavor...yum yum.

been there done that...

We have always made our toast that way... Never did like the upright metal stands over a flame idea for making toast when off the power grid...

I'll have to try that.

We used to have popcorn made in bacon fat instead of cooking oil. Heavily salted too.

What brand bacon? I'm enjoying Wrights. I wish their sausage was available locally. My hamster weighs more than you :B

Learned that from my dad back in the 50s and it's good. It was one of the things he eat during the great depression!
