Ol' Blue, Debra Nopp

I wasn't sure where to post this, but thought this forum best as so many of us enjoyed ol' Blue's recipes. I wanted to pass this along. Debra and I were Facebook friends. I have just read a post from her husband, Don--Debra passed away on February 16, after her battle with brain cancer. It made me feel very sad because she fought so hard.

Her husband gave a website and said the arrangements would be posted there. It's www.rill.com (Rill's Chapel, Port Orchard, WA). I just looked and the info is not there yet, but should be soon.

Don reminded everyone to "give your loved ones a hug each day...remember tomorrow is always a blessing, but never promised."

To Her family and friends I truly am sorry for your loss. I printed and cooked many of Her recipes. All were great. What she shared with all of us was a bounty of the joys of life. Heaven is now blessed with a great Chef.

Don,

I am so sorry to hear of Debra's passing. I wish I could have known her and told her I wished I lived next door. She will be missed and remembered especially whenever I cook one of her recipes.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. She mentioned you and your son so often when she posted a new recipe.

So sorry to hear that Debra passed away due to cancer. I knew that she had been ill and was hoping that she would find a way to beat it. I lost both of my parents to cancer and in fact, I connected with Debra as I was grieving the loss of my mom. She had many kind words to say and she helped me get through a terrible loss. I have a copy of her cookbook and I will think of her each time I look at it.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I enjoyed her posts. You could tell how caring she was, even with the posts she made. She was always so willing to answer questions about any recipe she shared, and very gracious about changes folks might suggest.

I could tell, sharing food was one of the ways she shared love. Many memories were probably made around your kitchen table, and at your campsite picnic tables!

She has been missed on this forum, and a void has been created for those of us that looked forward to her contributions. terry r.

Thank you for the update. I had been thinking about her the last few days so yesterday I went to her website but didn't see an update on her. I think of her everytime I make her Smokey Monterrey Ham Soup...a great comfort food in this cold weather.

She really enjoyed preparing meals you and your son would enjoy. I'll keep you both in my prayers. She will be missed.
