Okay, field testing is done and these are the absolute bomb for quick pancakes. The base pancake tasted great and then the cinnamon sauce with cream cheese just elevated them. Forgive me for the less than perfect appearance but boat deck cooking isn't always ideal for presentation. But these were a keeper!

Real pancakes are very simple to make and will always be better than frozen anything.

4 cups of self rising flour
3 cups of milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
2 tablespoons sugar

Mix all ingredients until mixture is uniform
Cook on a hot greased griddle
Makes 10-12 pancakes (6-7โ€ in diameter)
Serve with REAL butter and REAL maple syrup for best results

Now on a serious note, I love Buckwheat Pancakes, buckwheat flour and pancake mix is hard to find out here, do any of you know a packaged buckwheat pancake mix that still tastes like it did forty well maybe sixty years ago? I found a mix in a cotton bag on a trip a few years ago and the DW poo poo'ed buckwheat pancakes until I cooked up a batch. Now we can't find any out here on the Left Coast.

Found one at Bob's Red Mill which is also on the Left Coast in Oregon. We use a number of their products

Hi Guys, I love pacakes and consider it the luxury breakfast when served properly with our favourite bacon & eggs!
I recently found "C. H. Guenther & Sons Inc. Pioneer Brand" pancake mix at Walmart. This is the best tasting mix ever for me. It is a "traditional" mix so takes eggs and milk but hey that's what gives it that true flavor!

We use their biscuit mix, when I'm too lazy to scratch, and like it. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the pancake mix. I assume you don't mean the recipe on the biscuit mix?

Buckwheat pancake mix? Bobs Red Mill to the rescue.

On a less serious note, Buckwheat anything is probably hard to find due to not being PC these days. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I wonder if I can find Lil Rascals on dvd?

You can buy buckwheat flour from King Arthur's and you might be able to purchase a buckwheat premix at say a Whole Food.

Buckwheat pancake recipe
You could mix up a batch of the dry ingredients, put it in those shake and pour containers and just add the wet, when you're ready to cook. I get bulk buckwheat flour at the co-op, health food stores. You can also buy powdered buttermilk in the baking section. Or, sour regular milk with a teaspoon of vinegar or lemon juice.

If anyone keeps a sourdough starter, if you loosen it to a high hydration -it makes great pancakes.

"I don't always eat pancakes but when I do, I prefer Bisquick, Shake and Pour".

Bisquick Shake and Pour comes in different size plastic containers to which you add water, shake, and pour in the hot fry pan. We like them because it's fast, easy and everyone in the family loves them. DW and I carry a couple of small ones for when we're on the road and a larger one when we're camping with the DGKs and their Mom.

Don't know what the directions say, I don't ask for directions and I don't read them, but I have been known to keep it mixed for three or four days in the frige. All you have to do is add water and shake, even those of us who have had recipes published, like quick and easy.

For those of you that go, "oh no, another plastic container in the landfill", yes eventually, but, we repurpose and recycle. I use the containers at home for that one or two cups of paint left in a one gallon can and then throw that big old contaminated steel can in the landfill. ๐Ÿ˜‰ "This disclaimer is brought to you courtesy of "Tongue In Cheek Humor".

Fixed! Lol

Otherwise I agree!

Add one adult that loves the double fudge pop tarts with a tall glass of milk.

Would it be wrong if I said I make my own "pop tarts"?

Walmart and many other grocery stores sell De Wafelbakkers frozen pancakes and waffles and they are excellent! They give them away sometimes at rallies. Follow the heating directions on the package.
Our granddaughter loves these pancakes. Eats at least 8 for breakfast each morning. I've tried one and it's not bad.
