Dish locals in Arizona

We are spending 7 weeks in AZ between Yuma, Tucson, and Peoria. I want to change my Dish service address from home once for the entire time. The sat maps show that Phoenix locals are available in all the areas I will be located, but Yuma is on the edge of the coverage arc.

Does anyone know if Dish local channels from Phoenix can be received in Yuma?

We have no problem picking up Tucson locals in San Diego, CA and Santa Fe, NM. Yuma is no problem for Tucson or Phoenix. When you call in with your local Yuma address, Dish Network should ask you if you want Tucson OR Phoenix locals. As a side note you can also pick up San Diego in Yuma so if you give a SoCal address, somewhat near SD, you could have SD instead. Just remember there is a hour difference in programming between AZ & CA.

Chat is much easier. Calling is old school.

Be sure your OTA BATWING setup is working good... AZ has a good mtn in PHE as well as TUCSON. These two mtn sites alone will give you great NATL TV BROADCASTs Digital Clear TV free to the public all in HDTV mode...

This could be a great PLAN B for you perhaps...

We are using a Camp Verde address and we are sitting in Yuma and have had no problems this year or in the past years. We were also able to get the Phoenix locals when we were in Mexico.

Remember they have no idea where you are located, the dish receiver is one way so unless you are hooked to a phone line the there is no way to tell where you are located.

Looking at the 119 spot beam Yuma will be out of range of the Phoenix locals. That doesn't mean you will not be able to bring in the Phoenix channels. My local spot beams show me out of range just below Portland but in perfect weather I have pulled in my Seattle locals as far south as Newport on the coast and Bend inland. I mention the weather because we ran into cloudy/rainy weather in Newport and my locals went to SD or complete signal loss, next day clear blue skies and my locals were back to HD.

Here is the Phoenix Spot Beam map.
Hope this helps!

Not if Dish has locals in Yuma. You can lie and tell them you're in Phoenix.
