I think it's Good Sam that sells GPS units there that are made for RV'S
Any thoughts on them?

Thanks,

We purchased the Good Sam GPS several months ago. I used it locally for awhile and it worked fine. I am just back from a 4500 mile trip in our small class C. I loved the multi-stop trip function.
That said, the unit has several glitches: 1) Whenever we stopped for gas, etc. say our next direction was 10 miles ahead, when we got back on the road it started to tell us to exit or make a U turn. 2) Traveling to major cities on the main highways it continually kept telling us to get off and routed us through smaller towns with traffic. 3) On smaller roads it seems to get lost. Near Crater of Diamonds State Park it wanted us to backtrack 30 miles rather than go 15 miles direct to I-30. 4) Speed limits quite often were different than those posted. 5) It often sent us on a circuitous route. Headed for a northern suburbs of Dallas and approaching from the NE, it routed me through downtown Dallas. Fortunately I knew the correct way at that point. Figuring that I needed to adjust the settings so I selected that I prefer freeways. With this setting, on a 15 mile trip that I was familiar with as an experiment it took me 5 miles away from my destination through traffic to the freeway so it was 25 miles and an additional 15-20 minutes. Not really sure what setting to select to minimize these issues.
Obviously we need to consult a map and plan our route in more detail rather than relying completely on this unit. We have a Garmin RV unit that we use with our truck hauling our trailer. We've had a few issues with routing, but nothing like with this unit.

This is from my manual for the Rand McNally I have.
It is on page that talks about "set Warnings". Page 24 your page number may be different.
Note: To turn specific warnings off completely, tap the button until
โ€œOffโ€ displays.

The only thing that I dislike is that she tells me when I am exceeding the limit by 5 MPH. :B

You can change the mph over warning amount and/or turn this feature off in the settings

Do your research. Then buy some place else like Amazon. You'll pay way too much at CW.

Yes we have that model. Sorry forgot to include that originally
As for the sun you can buy a visor for it or just make one and it works just as good.

We shut off all the speed and distance warnings. We like how you can switch between truck and RV mode. Sometimes we leave the voice on but most of the time we shut it off. She gets annoying.

Are you talking the 7735?
It is made by Rand McNally. I would get the Rand McNally version. It has the campground and RV information.
I have an earlier version and it works good. I like the seven inch screen. It does have a little problem in the bright sun. It is a little hard to see.

We have a good Sam GPS for the last 2 years, and really don't have any complaints about it.
Very nice set up, a few things on the screen we could do with out but plenty of info.
Like that we can enter in our RV info to help route us around.
In fact we use it whenever we need to go somewhere instead of the GPS built into our Ram, granted our ram now has the bigger screen. Lol
