I use an older WILSON SLEEK CRADLE that has an external antenna with my Verizon 3G MIFI 4420 unit.
My MIFI UNIT looks like this when sitting in the WILSON SLEEK Cradle holder.
The WILSON SLEEK is my so called DOCKING STATION for the MIFI unit and is used both in my F150 truck and OFF-ROAD POPUP Trailer. The 4420 MIFI only has a 3GB DATAPLAN so it is only used for checking in with kids, paying bills, and some limited surfing of the internet.
The VERIZON NETWORK has been my choice over the years for outstanding CELLPHONE service when you have to off the main interstate locations and back off the beaten trails somewhere. Not having a working service is very rare for us.
The VERIZON MIFI gives me a WIFI FOOTPRINT around my truck and OFF-ROAD POPUP where I can use up to 5 WIFI enabled devices like my laptop computers and tablets.
The WILSON SLEEK provides a great enhancement of my MIFI unit giving it a strong passive VERIZON SIGNAL as well as increasing my foot print range of the developed WIFI signals around my local position location.
My basic problem is something similar to what you may be experiencing with connections. Using the WIFI signals to connect to your devices is what you need to develop for your tablets to work.
In my F150 Truck I can also set my Verizon DROID CELLPHONE in the WILSON CRADLE and it will enhance the DROID operations very good. Of Course having the DROID CELLPHONE sitting in the cradle makes it hard to operate so I really depend on the F150 BLUETOOTH application to link to my truck console panel which is what I use to make cellphone calls etc. This also has a great handsfree VOICE operations which is what I use the most.
Doing anything else requiring my DROID keyboard or screen operations is pretty much nulled out when it is sitting in the WILSON CRADLE.
You most definitely would have to be stationary to use the devices in this manner. NO WAY would I attempt any of this while trying to drive my truck.
The folks that have the larger DATABASE plans really like using their devices with the WILSON SLEEK unit. MILLENICOM is one of these 20GB DATAPLAN setups.
Hope some of this is helpful for you...
