I have had my Razar Air (Bow Tie type elements) for about 3 years now. It replaced a Winegard III with Wingman (1 element cut off to fit roof space) which ended up with half the analog wing bending from wind catching it when traveling. Likely caused by stored III sitting higher on roof with Wingman attached.

With 2 amplifiers giving me adjustable gain to 20 dBs I have really no problem with a 125 mile range. I do realize I may loose some range for low VHF channels but I have compensated for it.

I have not had the leakage problem that IAMICHABOD had with his Razar Air.

I replaced the bat wing with the JackD. It works so well that I bought one for the house.

Winegard has apparently muddied their own product line with several antennas with the same name. The one I was referring to is the original plate looking antenna

what are we looking at here ?

to me it looks like it has UHF and VHF elements

of course this is the automatic one that costs a lot more $$
NOT the $100 kingjack style
and NO i would NOT buy the $100 model that is UHF only
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

To your original question: NEITHER !
There is a complete TV channel realignment now in the works that will again populate VHF and neither the Jack or the Rayzor include VHF elements. If you have a Batwing, fix it and be happy you have it

There have been several studies done on assorted RV type antennas including the JACK, Ryzar and the good old standard.. Winegard Sensar series (II III and IV)

WIth many stations now in the UHF range the Sensar IV beats all competitors

The only thing better than a sensar IV is one of them with the optional SENSAR PRO

I run an III with Wingman (Very close to an IV call it a 3.9) and a Sensar Pro

I likely only needs some lubrication or replacement o-rings on the crank shaft.
You can take a look at this video or contact Winegard tech. support for additional information.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

I have had both, the Razar was a bit better than the Jack but not by much. I went back to my Jack after my Razar corroded after about a year and a half, poor workmanship, and quit working.I am not a fan of Weingard
products.

When I bought my RV it had a Winegard Batwing that was not working, I cleaned up all connections and tested to see if it was broken, it was,so I replaced it with a new bat wing then ran a Channel Scan I was not impressed with the amount of channels that I got. This was done in my driveway here in the south bay of So Calif about 30 miles from the transmitters, using my SensarPro.

I then went out and got a Wingman add on, that put my channel scan up to 47,but I had a clearance problem with the Wingman

So I opted to put a Jack on and my channel scan went up to 85

The debate will go on and on, but I know what works best for me,in the real world.

The leaks can be fixed by following the Winegard manual for annual maintenance. Assuming you already have the Batwing you will not find a better solution for OTA TV reception. You can add the Wingman attachment which may help, or add the newer control box. But neither the Jack or Winegard own Rayzar will outperform the Batwing.
