Couple months ago while camping in Ga...wind blew over my dish a couple of times...the last time it happened, I couldn't get a signal...removed the LNB and tapped it on a rock...reassembled and poof...we had a signal the rest of the time there.....

Returned to Fl and parked it a the usual spot...set the dish back up and couldn't get a signal no matter what I tried...ordered a new LNB and tried it again this weekend...still couldn't get a signal even when running the cable directly from the dish to the receiver using different cables.

I have the receiver set up utilizing the "Slimline-3" and aiming for the 101...what else is there to check for....please note that we've parked here several times over the past few years so I know exactly where to point to get a signal....thanks for any replys

The funny thing was that I got mine working the first time I set it up after finding it bent. I'm sure it was blind luck. I never got it dialed in again, so I replaced it.

It's amazing how unbent a reflector can be to not work. I watched a neighbor camped at the beach work for several hours before I finally went over to watch close-up. Short story: Wife comes out and mentions the fall off the roof....
So they borrowed mine for the rest of the trip after we carefully compared them side by side. It was bent, but barely

When mine blew over (70 mph winds), it was bent just enough that I couldn't quite get it straightened out. I just replaced it.

LNBs themselves rarely fail. I think a new dish is in your future as they do not tolerate falling much.

I think you may be right........

Either the dish has suffered damage from the fall, or the LNB arm has been bent out of place, or both. LNBs themselves rarely fail. I think a new dish is in your future as they do not tolerate falling much.

Swap dishes with BIL when he's sleeping.

Did you try a different receiver?

No but my BIL was parked a couple spots over and I had enough coax to run from his dish to mine and my receiver worked fine.....

Did you get a SWM SL3 LNB by mistake?

The original LNB had a part number on it and that what I used for the replacement part...when it came in I double checked that it matched...

Try taking the dish and laying face down on a level surface and checking it 360 deg

I understand your logic but since the whole dish is curved...how do you lay it flat??

Thanks for the replys

Lay the dish face down and look around all the edges for any gaps:)

Bent Dish = no signals:( . Try taking the dish and laying face down on a level surface and checking it 360 deg. around the dish to make sure it is completely level. If you visually see any bent areas, gently push on the dish face until you don't see any unlevel areas.
If you are unable to level dish, just go to a dish store and buy a used one.

Check for bent center conductor. Many times thats the problem. If thats ok, its time to check cable for continuity.

Did you get a SWM SL3 LNB by mistake? Check for a green label or any indication of SWM.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
