If you're looking for pay-as-you-go and not a monthly plan, then you may want to look at H2O Wireless which uses the AT&T network. Have to buy their SIM card for $10. Calls are 5ยข per min, with a minimum $10. card purchase good for 200 min every 90 days.

sounds similar to my tracfone but don't remember the rates. I got the $19.95 one at walmart that has double minutes. kept buying the annual cards for under $100 with ??? minutes, then based on somebody's suggestion here, just went to their service maintenance plan, about $5 a month no minutes added, since I built up about 1800 minutes on mine.

Tracfone has a bring your own phone program. For smartphones they use the Verizon CDMA network. For regular phones they use the ATT GSM network.

tracfone uses a proprietary operating system
in other words the phones programing has been changed to operate within certain "rules" and ID for their system
I don't think tracfone has a bring your own policy, especially a phone programmed for another Virtual Carrier
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

call tracfone and see about transferring account to new phone. and when the first operator says no, wait 30 minutes and get another operator
