Removing personal info from web?

Grandkid comes over who is taking a elementary police class, and in few second finds my info on web. Some of info is from public records I think, and other info I believe is from daughter thinking how great it would be to do genealogy on the web.

As the saying goes...While I have nothing to hide, I still don't ride to town naked.

Two linked sites below the worst I think...plug in your info and see what they on you about you. Surprised me.

I don't like my personal info on web. How do I get it off?

(1) these are scam sites and the reason they exist is to make money.
(2) as far as I can tell without giving them any money, the info is marginally accurate at best. Certainly not worth the coin they demand.

One of the first things to do is get several completely new e-mail accounts, and do not publish the addreses to anyone. Another is to route all your current e-mail to one account, and automatically delete everything that goes there. It appears that there are a number of companies that specialize in doing exactly what you want. As it on google, then investigate companies that look good to you. About the only other thing to do is become a government witness, and the FBI will do it for you.

I want my genealogy out there, I am trying to find my father or his descendants. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
Every time you make an application, every time you make a credit card or debit transaction the information goes into cyberspace and those with the right tools can access it. Do you notice the advertising that reaches you after making a purchase? General Foods and Procter & Gamble know exactly who is buying what and who might be tempted with new products.

You might want to try using the Brave browser. It keeps your info fairly private and gives you a readout of what has been blocked and who has been trying to snoop.

What's done is done. Hint: Google, Facebook, Windows 10 are all about collecting and aggregating info about you. Nothing is free - if it seems free to you, it just means you're what's being sold.

All it has on my family is some addresses -- mostly out of date. No mention of my jail time or other misdeeds.
All pretty much public. Not to worry.

It's wishful thinking to believe you can delete anything.

In my case they were 100% accurate except one relative. Guess I'm easy to track down.

If the info is public, there's not much you can do. However, you can start on each sites' FAQ or Help page:

Forget which one but they want e-mail address to even get started. I for sure don't want to give them any info.

I was hoping by now somebody might of started a business keeping what's yours, well yours. Not the entire world. Sort of like those credit card fraud places that watch out for your credit account.

You cannot. Sorry!
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?
