Open Signal, Real Signal, Signal Check Pro, Network Info II , and Network Signal INFO . These downloads are all pretty well free.

They will help you separate the pretender from the contenders

Tough call. The biggest problem is Tmobiles lack of coverage in Rural areas. But a good amplifier would help.

Network cell info lite has a map that shows you the tower you are connected too.

And you can read the SNR directly from the settings in Androids as well, no app needed.
