If your old phone is old enough, it with a CD disc with the needed software, usually a driver and some minimal photo editor

If it s only a couple of years old, it might be a "media" ready phone, that connects directly to pc via USB and shows up as media device or external USB device

Look for in "my computer"
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Yes
You should be able to transfer from phone to pc via usb cable
Or maybe via blue tooth connection

Get the model number from the old phone and look up the instruction manual online
It will tell you how to do it
I can explain it to you.

I do not think it needs to be active but it can take 10-20 minutes before it will work.. I've had to transfer numbers phone to phone (manuallY) and it took me that long to get to the phone book (pre-smart phone).

As someone said, use the USB cable.. teh path if you do not have an SD card in the phone (if you do there are two paths)

On a windows machine, Open File Manager (MY Computer works for XP, Same program) and choose the phone (On my phone is is SGH-XXXXX) then choose PHONE and DCIM then CAMERA and there they are

The other path is CARD--DCIM--CAMERA if you have an SD card installed.

IF ALL the photos are stored on teh SD (Mine are) Pull the card and put it in the proper reader not an adapter may be needed for MICRO SD cards. and then it's another HD on the computer.

You are not stating what kind of phone you have. The pics are stored in the phone. If both phones are the same brand you might have a chance, but if one is old and one is new your chance is slim. I am not an expert, but my wife's old phone (not a smart phone) would not work. I have a Samsung III and using Kies on my computer I can download photos. My wife's I-Phone will not work on the Samsung software. Go to your manufactures' web site and see if they have a program that will install on your computer to download photos.

If you still had service you would have been able to either text or email the pics. Good luck!

Should be able to take the old phones power cord and plug it into the computer via the USB port and transfer everything to a desktop folder. Might take some finaggling get them in a format your computer can read, but certainly doable.

Try connecting your cell-phone to the computer with a USB cable; if the computer recognizes it as a new device you're good to go.
