Tv antenna not getting signal

Quick question. We were on cable until today and are now using our antenna for over the air channels. Switched the tv back to "air", turned the booster back on and no channels found during the scan on either of our tv's. Any ideas? I am camped outside of Madison, GA and we got about 20 channels when camped here 2.5 weeks ago. Thanks for any help/ideas!

I recently had the same problem. Found a crack in the cable just where it comes out of the bottom of the TV mast. I made up a new cable to go from there up to the head, cut the old cable and put on a new connector to connect to the new piece of cable. Problem solved.

Works, then not, then works, Sounds like flakey connection

Suspects are of course primarlly the "Roof to antenna" cable.

I should have replaced my cable when I was fixing it (not sure if I did, but dont' think so) due to age.. they don't last for ever.

Well, it works now. Other than driving about 350 miles today I have no explanation. I will go back on the roof and look for corrosion, etc when we get home. Thanks for the help!

Happened to me after I cleaned the roof.. Well, started the tribble hunt.. Found no DC at the antenna.. So dig into the roof where the cable goes and found... The Problem (Corrosion had taken out the connector hidden under the clamshell cable cover.. Must have been a PPP (P*ss Pot Poor) job of caulking at factory, though it sure looked good)

Replaced connector, Replaced Cable end connector, Re-sealed using premium materails.. Watching TV as I type. Note thare are 4 Cable ends and a barrel connector plus the antenna's connector and the power supply/switch (inside device) connector. Plus fuses and wires on teh 12 volt side of the power inserter/switch.

You would need to check to see if there is 12V power at the antenna head. Is there a light lit on the power supply (not a booster, but called that by many) when you turn it on? If not, look for a blown fuse. If there is a light, and you can get up on the roof, remove the coax from the antenna head and use a multi-meter to read the voltage inside the coax. It needs to be 12 VDC or better.

Yup, antenna is up!

For broadcast channels some televisions will scan for "air" stations as well as digital stations. Make sure that you have it set to receive the digital (DTV) signals.

Nope, no router or other switches.

Also checked the jumper coax and connections, to include going up on the roof to look. Still nothing.
