WiFi Range Extender

What seems to work the best, for a reasonable price, to extend wifi reception in my Class A?

If you are trying to get stronger wifi signal from the RV park, keep in mind that stronger signal will not necessarily mean faster speed. Not uncommon to have strong park wifi and still have very slow speed due to limited bandwidth.

This sounds like "A glass half empty" look on life.

My main router gets me 75 Mbps but I only get 4 Mbps at the far end of the house.
The Extender gets me 28 Mbps, it's not near the 75 but a heck of an increase over 4 Mbps.
You can look at it as a drop from 75, to me it's an increase from 4.

Don't know what you're trying to tell me.
I did a speed check on the iPad everywhere I tried it.
At the main router in the back room I get a solid 75 Mbps
In the front room I get 4 Mbps

With Netgear Extender I get 28 Mbps everywhere in the house
When I sit in the back room I switch to the main router.

Best Buy and talked to the folks there. The guy who helped us explained, that even though the range of WIFI is extended, the upload and download speed was considerably reduced ... like 50%

We looked into getting a Netgear WIFI extender for the house. We went to Best Buy and talked to the folks there. The guy who helped us explained, that even though the range of WIFI is extended, the upload and download speed was considerably reduced ... like 50%. Thats no problem if you are using static web pages, but for streaming video or gaming, it could cause too much of a slow down.

We didn't want that, only to find out once we returned home (with new laptop's), that our Netgear wifi router was Dual Band. When we connected to the 5G band on all our devices, everything started running, like .... WOW!

Glad we talked to the guy first, and he had us take a second look at our current router. He's the one that explained to us how the dual band router works.

Turns out, our new television in the camper now pick up our WIFI great at home, as does our computers and every thing else, even in the camper, parked in the drive way.

Now... if the OP is looked for a way to extend campground WIFI, or a WIFI that he does not own, that's a different matter.

If you are able to tap into a campground WIFI and extend the range, then you better believe everyone else around you will be using the same signal from your extender too, slowing it down even more, as campground wifi's have the known reputation of running horrible when so many attempt to connect all at the same time.

Another vote here for Netgear.
At first I was disappointed then I moved it around till I found the sweet spot for it in the house. Now I get a strong signal all over.

I do not agree with you when you say "it slows down the download/upload speeds by a lot". "Alot" is an over statement. Regardless if one needs WiFi range extended then such a device will do the job. I've installe over a dozen of such devices for various people over the last year or so and all were very please with the WiFi extension and WiFi operation post install.

Please be more specific. Are you tying to get stronger campground WiFi to your rig, or do you have an existing cellular (MiFi) device that needs to broadcast its WiFi a further distance thoughout the rig, or???

The NETGEAR N300 Wall Plug Version Wi-Fi Range Extender (WN3000RP) is a terrific unit that works very well. Easy to set-up also.
Will give you 2.4 GHz only. For more $ you can get a similar Netgear unit that will give both 2.4 and 5 GHz. Go here for the N300.
