Windows 10 updates playing havoc on computers

Has anyone else experienced problems with the latest Windows 10 update?? I have 2 new Dell computers that came with Windows 10 installed and one older one that was updated to 10. Last week the same identical problem happened on all of them so I think it was an update.. On each of the computers I had MS Office 2010 (student version) installed, registered and was working fine...THEN...all of a sudden, each computer changed the MS Word, Excel, etc default program from the 2010 Office Version I bought to the new Office program that come of the computers and with the update to Windows 10 on the older computer. I never purchased, used or activated the new Office Program. Now I couldn't open excel documents without being prompted to purchase the new Office program. I uninstalled the trial Windows Office Program that was preinstalled (never activated) on the new computers and then was able to access my 2010 Office excel documents again.. but now every time I open one of them to edit it, the editing function is disabled and I am being told they might be a security risk?? I can bypass this notice and am able to edit again but this has happened to every MS Excel document that was created when using the MS Office 2010. A real pain in the rear.. Is this another MS way of forcing you into something you really don't want??? Anyone else experienced this...Maybe time to switch to Open Office..

Win 10 and their sneaky updates are totally unacceptable. It is the only thing I have ever bought that I can't control if I want to use it.

I have two identical HP laptops. They both have Office 2007 installed. I installed Windows 10 over Windows 7 on the first one without issue. Office 2007 still intact.
I have gone through the process to install Windows 10 on the second laptop several times. Goes through the process and appears to install, but when it reboots it always reverts to Windows 7. Even made sure I had all of the updates before attempting the last couple of times but to no avail. Guess I'll just stay with Windows 7 on this laptop. Boots up a little slow but that's no big deal to me.

You may need to go to your account page at MIcrosoft and disable those updates to Office... I do not have that problem with my Win-10 machines.. I ... Deleted the Microsoft office and went with a competitor's program (Apache Open Office) I am told there is an even better version but I've been using this one since win-98 and that's a long, long time... It accepts many Microsoft formats. (not all) On a third machine I assist on the Microsoft format was not one Office can open.. but Google Edit (Cloud app) can and then you can CTRL-A (Select all) CTRL-C (copy) and CTRL-V (paste) the document into open office. You will loose SOME (But not all) Formatting (Font changes, bold/italics et-al) but you can easily do a side by side and fix that.. That's what Sherry is doing now.

I have both Office 2010 and Open Office. I use each one for specific tasks. Have not had any problems with Windows 10 updates interfering with them.

No problems after did the WIN10 Upgrade ON-LINE July 2015 on two WIN 8.1 and two Win 7 Laptops (Three Dells and One HP)... I am using MS OFFICE 2007 with no problems on all machines that I loaded from my MS OFFICE disk... Just made up a EXCELL Spreadsheet today on this machine.

We also rejected the WIN10 360 Office program and loaded in MS OFFICE 2007 instead. Have received all of the WIN10 updates as far as I know...
