I am thinking about getting a wireless home phone and ditching my land line. Has any one had any experience with these units, the system I am thinking about is a Verizon system. I get good service at home with my cell phone so I think it would work, they are pros and cons on the reviews I have read, I think it depends on what location you are in. All replies appreciated. Thanks Roy

I have an AT&T wireless home phone. It works so much better than the noisy land line, can be taken with you to have home phone service anywhere you go, and it cost half the cost of the land line. Go for it.

We switched to the Verizon cellular home phone to save money, and found a second benefit by accident.

We are usually in our RV about 6 months a year. Now, we carry our Verizon home phone with us, and almost everywhere we are (Verizon has very good coverage), we can answer calls to our home and the caller has no idea that we aren't really in our sticks and bricks.

I've had the Verizon Home Phone Connect for a couple years and am happy with it. It is cellular, so its completely dependent on your specific location for service quality. I got it because I have 3 stix & bricks in 3 diff states and it allows me to take it with me from house to house, keep the same number and use existing inside phone wiring outlets & extensions.
Be aware it does have some limitations as a landline replacement. it wont work with some home alarm sys, or medic alert sys, or as a fax machine line, etc..
I'm often asked why I need it, if I have a cell phone already. Well its more personal preference.

We have used the Verizon home connect system for 2 years now and love it. Our cells would not in the basement. With the system you just plug it into your present home wired phone lines and you can use all the jacks for any type of phone, portable or other. The system has a dial tone so you can use an auto dialer like a security system or temp alarm.

We have the Verizon Wireless Home Phone service and love it. Our bill from AT@T for traditional home was running us $45.00 a month now its $20. It works of the Verizon cellular network. As long as you get a signal from the cell tower it will work. Callers cannot tell your are not on a landline. You can also take it with you in your RV. Great product.

I don't think he is referring to VoIP. Verzion has a home connect service which allows whole home phone service using a cellular connection.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

We used Magic Jack for years also. Dumped it only because we all have cell phones. Magic Jack was great and you can actually take it with you on the road.

I'm guessing you're referring to a VoIP phone? I'd advice checking to make sure you have a quality net connection. This doesn't necessarily mean a fast connection. You can try using myspeed.visualware.com, which will help determine if your net connection, I take it's mobile data, is suitable for VoIP.

Note that if you're interested in Verizon's standalone mobile data home phone connect with unlimited minutes for $20. month, Walmart has the exact same setup with Straight Talk Wireless Home Phone for $15. month. You have to buy the 4G VoIP router/PSN, but also uses Verizon.

Personally, I use the MagicJack Plus and also forward my cell phone number(Google Voice) to it as my Verizon wireless has 0-1 bar signal from my home. Doesn't use any Verizon minutes. Also have a Obihai PSN adapter which connects to a home phone and allows incoming/outgoing calls using a Google Voice number for calls in the U.S./Canada at no cost.

I have read on this forum and others that folks have had good service from a Verizon wireless home phone. I myself don't have one and my question is why does one need a phone for the home? I dropped my land line over a year ago and only have a cell. I still have one landline phone in the kitchen that can be used for 911 calls only.
