Are you a fan of buying at RV Shows?

I have talked to a number of people locally, and a few of them are fans of two big dealerships, whereas other folks say they think you get better deals at the big RV Shows?

Anyone have any input on this?

Not to poke holes in this idea....but.... MOST of the important , decision making managers are usually at the shows...you most likely will get someone who does not have the power to accept that low price you may offer.....

If you do decide to buy at the show, wait till near the end. The dealer doesn't want to transport it back to the dealership

There are no RV dealers really close to me so I don't bother with the shows or local dealerships. I'm going to have to rent a car to get to either locale so decided that I'll peruse the internet in order to narrow my choices down. I've also noticed that most of the manufacturers I'm interested in don't show anywhere near me. Shopping on the 'net means I have to pay particular attention to the specifications but also means I'm not blinded by a light of cuteness.

Our daughter found a TT at a show that she liked and did end up buying it. First thing she did was get on the computer that night and did research on it. I also looked the make and model up. I also looked at the dealership to see if they had any other on sale of the make and model. Next day I went with her and she made an offer. They countered and said that that was as low as they could go. I then pulled out the add they had on their site. She got it for what the add I showed them. I would not take the sale price they show as the amount they will take. Always make an offer lower than what they are advertising.

RV shows are good for looking at all the different makes and models that are out there. Do your homework and really investigate what you want oto buy, and the dealer you're thinking about buying from. Most of the time the "SPECIAL RV SHOW PRICE" is not the lowest available. After the show I went to the dealer and bought for lower than the show price.

I like to deal locally and the dealers at the shows may not be from my area. Buying locally gives one a little stroke for after-sales service. Some dealers don't like to do warranty work because the manufacturers don't pay enough for the work but if you buy the rig from that dealer he will be more inclined to do the work and do a good job.

NO buying at the RV Show.

RV Show is for 'looky-louing'. Seeing what is what,

Buying is done at the dealership after checking out dealers reputation and where one can level the field.....not be emotional/all excited.

I am not in favor of buying anywhere until after I have done research on the thing I intend to buy. I may shop and get ideas and narrow down the units to ones that appeal to me, but, to buy without finding out about the quality by researching is wrong to me.
Sometimes you find out that you will have warranty issues if you buy from someone who is not your local dealer. Sometimes you find out the tires are crappy. It is amazing what research will help you avoid
